Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Art Nouveau Galata is a gem of a hotel in a great neighborhood. The Galata neighborhood is fun and vibrant, with lots of cute cafés, dessert spots, restaurants and hip music and gift shops clustered around the historic Galata Tower. The hotel is right in the heart of the action—our room literally overlooked the Galata Tower!—but our space was quiet and peaceful despite the nonstop fun outside. Our room had a little balcony which would've been a wonderful spot to sip coffee and people watch (if we'd allowed ourselves some downtime from sightseeing!). Our room was modestly sized but had everything we needed and more—roomy storage for clothes, a TV, desk, and spacious modern bathroom. The room even had a small kitchenette which was an unexpected plus! We loved going to the brasserie across the square to eat breakfast (included) every morning. The T1 tram stop and Tünel were both nearby which was extremely convenient for getting around. But the best part of our stay was undoubtedly the kind and attentive service. Yalçin and his gracious colleagues went out of their way to make sure our stay was the best it possibly could be. When we visit Istanbul next, we know where we'll be staying!

We have been staying in Istanbul many time in different hotels. But only here in this hotel we feel ourselves like at home. Comfortable beds, everything is clean and tidy, air conditioning and hearted were keeping nice warmth in the room, small shampoos and soaps are provided.

The guys Murat and Ahmet are so friendly, helpful, attentive and careful. They are so sincere, and they really can solve any problem, help in anything you need. They are real professionals and at the same so kind-hearted people.

The location is perfect- right next to the Galata tower, lots of restaurants, authentic cafes and shops.

It’s excellent! Highly recommend.

This was my first trip to Istanbul and my fiancé had a great time, the Art Nouveau Galata Hotel was the perfect spot to stay. The rooms were nice and comfortable, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The location was great, right around the corner from the Galata Tower. We walked all over the city, and it was always reassuring to be able to see the tower no matter where we were and know how to get back to our hotel. The breakfast provided by the hotel was a daily highlight for us as well. A real Turkish breakfast is hard to beat. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

I stayed here in February during the coldest months. The staff was so supportive in my travel. They arranged for a COVID test to be taken in my hotel room. That was so convenient. The hotel was clean and the staff always offered great food recommendations nearby. i would recommend this place if your staying in Istanbul for a few days.

It is a beautiful small hotel, very friendly and helpful personnel. The rooms are well decorated. We felt at home. The whole place is faultlessly clean. Bathroom is spacious. WiFi connection is very good.

At the website of this hotel and various booking websites only certain rooms photos are published. I would like to warn people who want quiet in their room is that there is a cafe just next to the hotel very close and people chat and laugh just 3 metres away from your room. Even when you close the windows it doesn't work and sleeping with the air conditioning just coming directly to the bed is terrible. You hear everything. I rented a room with a balcony thinking i can enjoy it there with my partner but these people sitting just next to you there is no privacy at all. I can take the noise of the street etc. but listening a group of people chat is so annoying. I even called before booking asking how is the noise in the hotel, as all we want to do is stay in our room sleep and relax. Now i have to listen a group of people chatting loudly since 3 hours. I would have never booked this hotel if I new i could have this room. I even paid the highest price available in this hotel. Oh mind you that there is a big generator in front of this balcony that makes noise as well. Nothing in the hotel fixes this noise problem. There is also noise inside the building.

Really cosy little hotel with a great view of Galata Tower. We arrived very early in the morning and they we so nice to give us another available room as our room was not ready yet. After a long fligt this was welcomed. Our room had a balcony facing Galata tower. Room was on the small side for all our suitcases, but very nice and clean. Just note there are no lift or restaurant. You get a voucher to go and have breakfast at a place close by, which was also great.

The location was amazing -- steps away from Galata Tower. We had a room with a tiny balcony and we sat out on it each night, watching the tourists go by and the birds swoop around the tower. The breakfast -- they give you a voucher each day -- at the nearby cafe was terrific, with plenty of choices. I usually had the Turkish breakfast, with meze, egg, bread, tomato/cucumber/olive salad, sigara cheese pastry and coffee. (We skipped lunch.) In fact, we liked the cafe so much we when there for a glass of wine and dessert.) We visited the sister property (the Pera Nouveau) one evening to watch the sunset on their roof terrace. It was a lovely view of the city. Perfect with a beer and snacks. I'd definitely stay here again.

Downsides: the room was tiny, NYC tiny, closet tiny. It worked for us for four nights, but just be prepared there's not a lot of room. The bathroom could use a couple hooks to hang things. The windows, though double-paned, let in a bit of noise, even with the A/C going. That said, it didn't bother me -- I think any super central location would be a bit noisy..

In April this year I stayed at Art Noveau Galata Hotel Istanbul with my granddaughter. It was most enjoyable whatsoever! The owner was very hospitable, sociable and friendly as well as all the other staff! Everything was just perfect - rooms, cleanliness, breakfasts, wish of the personnel to make our stay unforgettable! The most important thing was that they care about their guests and this happens rather rarely nowadays. And it is this that makes this hotel most welcome for tourists! You feel as if you are at home among close people! Thanks, all of tha staff!!! B
