.This is a very good place to stay , with brilliant views of the Bosphorus, especially from the (French) restaurant at the top. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of choice. Good staff, with an outstanding receptionist, Mutlu, who speaks English and is quite extraordinarily helpful to visitors. There is a price to pay for that view, though, since the hotel...

Just like Istanbul, this hotel comprises a lot of conflicting things. Take location for example. On one hand, the location on the map is very good, it is on a quiet street next to a park and at the same time close enough to many major attractions. On the other hand, you have to walk a very high slope to...

This place is in the middle of town but the moment you step in, you feel somehow very relaxed. At the roof, there is restaurant serves perfect french food and magnificent view of Bosphorus and the sunset over Istanbul. The stuff of hotel is very friendly, you really feel like you are at home. La maison endeed.

Love the views, it's had a nice charm to it. The food is good, staff friendly. The tour bus dropped me off at the bottom of the hill, I could do it no problem - but if you are health challenged beware! I do work on the road and the weak internet wifi was a bit of a hassle but...

The location of this hotel is great. It is clean and quiet and the view from the restaurant on the top floor is fantastic. It could use some updating the rooms are a little old and the beds are a touch hard. If you're an international business traveler be warned although they say they have foreign language television channels they...

On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome from the staff. My room had a balcony and great view of the Bosohurus. In general through out the hotel the decoration and furniture is a bit tired. With a little brush up this place could really be fantastic. The room had a good selection of toiletries including my most loved shower...

The hotel room was small but sufficient. It was clean most importantly. Our stay was over the Eid break. La Maison staff were incredibly helpful and personal assisting with everything we needed. The rooftop terrace is fantastic for breakfast/dinner and drinking always playing some cruisey jazz remixes. I would highly recommend.

The view from some of the rooms and the restaurant over the Bosphurus must be amongst one of the best from any hotel in Istanbul. The hotel is at the top of a very very steep and long hill in the Besiktas suburb in the city and there lies its usp its great view and its major problem the hill....

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
