The best feature of this hotel is without a doubt the breakfeast terrace, That view while you're enjoying your breakfeast is something from another world. Evertything else is nice, and what we should expect from any kind of hotel, clean, some variety in the breakfest items, and with a central location.

- I did not expect luxury but staying in this hotel was the worst thing in Istanbul ever - they charged me the room on 26.1., I came there on 5.2.2016 - in the bed was already someone sleeping before my arrival - also someone was using shower, which was dirty and moldy and there was no way of using...

This hotel is located on a perfect location if you want to visit the tourist attractions of Istanbul. The Topkapi palace, Sultan Ahmet Mosque, Aya Sofia, Basilica Cistern and the Galata bridge are all within 5/10 minutes walking distance. The train station and two tram stops (Sirkeci and Gulhane) are also within 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel itself is...

This is a very small budget hotel - 10 rooms only. We were in a family room on the 5th floor. The bathroom was a bit small and pokey - but it's a budget hotel! Breakfast is included and is taken on the 6th floor. This is higher than the neighbouring hotel and affords panoramic views of the Topkapi palace,...

For the money we paid,we couldn t expect nothing better.Very good location near Gulhane and Sirkeci tram stops. The boys in the reception very kind and helpful. The room was big enough and the breakfast is OK.As already mentioned, the view to the sea and the Gulhane park from the breakfast room is spectacular. In few words a positive experience.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at Sayeban Gold Hotel in June, 2015. The hotel and its rooms is clean and nicely decorated. Hotel's stuff is responsive and helpful. One of the main hotel's pluses is location: silent street but all the great Istanbul attractions and the city's transportation systems in the walking distance. The view on Golden Horn from...

Booked 6 mos in advance. They charged our account 2 mos before we arrived. When we arrived, the room lacked electricity, A/C and water seeped out from under the commode, onto the floor when the WC was used. We asked for another room and were refused. They fixed the electricity but, after an attempt, told us that they would fix...

Very decent hotel in good location - silent street, close to attractions and transportation (Gulhane or Sirkeci tram station, Sirkeci Marmaray metro station, Eminonu port in walking distance). Rooms not big, but perfectly adequate. If you want to work or entertain in your rooms, however, then this is not for you. Wifi worked well. Breakfast typical Turkish, served in rooftop...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
