I stayed at this hostel for only 2 nights before I finally left Turkey, to save on accommodation. My only regret is not coming here in the first place. I stayed at hostels in Europe from time to time, although I often seek the comfort of a hotel with more privacy. I didn't have high expectations, but the staff surprised...

From the moment I entered Cesar, was at the front desk, was super friendly, gave me a map, and showed me how close Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Basilica cistern just to name a few were. 6 mins...

With 150 lira/night, what I got was a tiny room. A bed is right in the middle, the room is so small that a corner of the bed even blocks the entrance, I had to squeeze myself in. The location is good, but there are some other hotels nearby with more reasonable price.

Stayed 5 days; excellent value for money, top location, but some rooms in basement and ground floor lack storage lockers so you need to use the ones in the corridors; also, basement and ground floors aren't ensuite.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
