Location: Initially difficult to find this hostel, although there was a power cut at the time which made it more tricky. Be prepared and come armed with map & ready to ask directions more than once if you're coming from the airport via public transport! Once there the staff are very welcoming and helpful, always ready to answer questions and...

Metropolis was our first stay in Turkey. Located approximately a 10 minute walk from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia & other sites of Old Town. Very clean hostel. Staff were friendly. Basic breakfast included. Didn't realise how good we had it until we stayed at a cheaper hostel in Taksim. Definitely recommend!!

Short walking distance to Aga Sofia, to the Tram, to the roofed market, and to the Rose park, this hostel is located perfectly. The workers are fun and we jammed one night on the hostel's rooftop. The food they order from the restaurant down the corner is excellent and arrives quickly. Breakfast is good, and rooms are cleaned daily. Really,...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
