Fantastic service, amazing crew especially Ali and Özan. They can fix and service you in any need and makes sure everything is as you expect. The rooms are big and clean with amazing bathtubs and the restaurant has an delicious menu card with prices that doesn’t deviate from restaurants in the city.

Being a 5* hotel, Celal Aga Konagi Hotel did not disappoint us. Upon booking, we were contacted promptly and all our queries were resolved instantly. They offered us an affordable room upgrade, and were very flexible with our needs. Despite visiting during COVID19, breakfast (although already prepared) was provided. A special thank you to Hülya who was always very helpful and friendly when serving breakfast. The rooms were extremely spacious, comfortable and the jacuzzi/Japanese toilets exceeded our expectations! The location is conveniently located - a minute walk from Vezneciler metro station, and a ten minute walk to the Grand Bazaar. Another special thank you to Ali and Murat who went above and beyond, helping us with our many needs, and also allowing us to store some of our luggage as we are visiting multiple cities in Turkey. The reservation manager, Dilek, was also incredibly supportive and even provided us with a discounted stay for our return visit to Istanbul. I will look no further than Celal Aga for any future visits to Istanbul. Thank you for an incredible visit

We went to gelal aga konagi we are family of 5, I have 3 children 9, 6 ,5, my oldest son have asthma and I noticed he itch a lot his eyes and start coughing when I checked the bed they didn't change the bed sheet and under bed was so dirty, the cleaner didn't clean under bed. 2nd problem that every time we went from outside tired the key doesn't open the door they need to scan it we call them from corridor they ignore us and it takes 10 mins to came n sort the problem. The staff not friendly at all they don't smile or try to help if you ask anything. They sell fresh orange juice on breakfast for 35 turkish liras it should be including free breakfast. The life saver in swimming pool ask my kids shouting relllllax and told me they not allowed play with water inside swimming pool.
Actually was bad experience as a family from all the times we went to Istanbul about 8 or 9 times, I don't really not recommend this hotel.

Clearly they have used the Turkish star rating system which seems to be based on awarding yourself however number of stars you fancy.

They try and price everything in euros as the downturn in the Turkish economy has meant that visiting Istanbul is generally very cheap but not when a cynical hotelier tries to overcharge.

They want €8 for a beer about four times that which he would pay elsewhere.

In addition they priced their trips in euros which seem to be at least three times VAT of which you could obtain from any street tour operator. If you don’t partake in their vastly overpriced tourist trips they quickly lose interest in you.

The rooftop terrace sold as a feature was closed and full of upturned furniture.

The luxury rooms smell of cigarettes.

The reception floor often smells like a toilet. Not in a bleach and cleaning products way!

The aqua bath seems to turn itself on at night.

It’s probably one of the noisiest hotels although it does quieten down after 3 am.

The air-conditioning doesn’t work although it does make quite an annoying noise .

Random phone calls in the middle of the night asking whether we want toilet roll from housekeeping was another party piece.

The water cascading through the light fitting in the hall outside of the room was also most entertaining.

There is no English TV channel.

Tea and coffee making facilities are limited to using paper cups.

You had to pay for your entire stay as soon as you’re arrived and if you were mad enough to want to pay the vastly overpriced drinks prices you could not run a tab you had to pay everything immediately.

The breakfast was okay slightly ruined by numerous feral children jumping up and down on chairs and throwing food.

The location is okay although the amenities nearby are nothing special you do however get to see beggars eating out of dustbin bags.

If they had marketed this as a three star hotel you would probably be reasonably happy although as you wander round Istanbul you do look enviously of virtually every other hotel that you walk past.
However they are marketing this as a five star luxury hotel which is not in any way at all

The hotel staff its description on net is highly deceptive, the first impression of reception is terrible, a small dirty room with absolutely ice cold attitude staff. They have dark rooms in the middle of two rows of rooms which they will give you irrespective of your booking. No complaints entertained. The rooms lack basic facilities, dirty floors, no minibars, not even a chair in room. Lifts are dirty and staff totally indifferent. The location is OK for public transportation. Breakfast is served like in a factory canteen, you need to remind staff for tea/coffee two to three times.
I would strongly not recommend this hotel if you are looking for some decent environment

I stayed here in the first week of August and to begin with it took about an hour or two to get into our room which was not what we were promised. The room designs were not thoroughly planned as the bathroom window was translucent allowing the other adults to see through. Dilek is more interested in decorating herself and taking selfies than worrying about the room design. Every time I was faced with a problem, she was far more interested in flaunting herself with her fake buttocks lifter pads than addressing the issues faced by the guest. Guests pay for this service and to be staying in a 5 star hotel without having these needs met makes me regret my stay here. I shall not be staying here again and this is definitely not the service you get in French or North African hotels. The only positivity was the location. Don't judge a book by its cover as clichéd as it may sound. Thank you Ali for being able to translate, it was a great help. Communication was seamless thanks to his ability to speak Arabic.

Before our most recent visit in this 'five' star hotel, our 9 night stay at Celal Aga was smooth, with great housekeeping as well as a large jacuzzi. We intended to visit Celal Aga once again, and booked 2 quadruple rooms (these were already our rooms). During check in, the decor of the hotel completely changed, as well as new faces. Our booking which went through with the 'manager' Dilek accepted our booking of 2 quadruple rooms. But upon entering the rooms, these were completely different as they were much smaller and accommodated less people. In the space of a few days, the management of the hotel let us down, as we were promised by Dilek that we would be getting two quadruple rooms. Even though I had a lengthy conversation with Dilek, she did nothing to amend this issue and instead gave us a "coffee machine" as a gesture of goodwill. Firstly, the conversation was lacklustre at best as Dilek went against her own words, and said that they never approved of two quadruples. The receipt given upon our booking certainly shows the two quadruple rooms that we booked. Even though Dilek attempted at resolving this issue, the "coffee machine" given to us was simply a kettle with only a few coffee sachets (kettles were already provided). However, although the hotel lost its flair in the space of a few weeks, some staff worked exceptionally. But this positivity was let down by the bell boy who is simply an annoying bugger. At first the bell boy simply cannot communicate in simple English, and shouts at people for not adhering to social distancing measures, when the bellboy himself was not wearing a mask and was very touchy with other guests. The hotel decor at best was horrible, with the wallpaper being outdated, and starting to lose its shape. The design of the bathroom is also mediocre with the shower window being quite clear which allows other guests in your room to watch you have a shower. During our 9 night stay, the hotel was under constant renovation. But as soon as we checked in for our 2 night trip, the cupboards were screwed on weakly, which resulted in one guest having an injury due to the hotels horrible job of renovating. Although Ali was very helpful in our previous stay, Ali was more helpful towards Arabs and supported their needs. During one night, our key stopped operating. I gave the key to Ali, and it took him 10 minutes to refresh the key as she spent his time by helping other guests who had minor issues with the WiFi. The other receptionists were also incompetent as they were not able to give us any extra towels which were not placed by housekeeping. At times we had to go downstairs and stay next to the receptionist so we were able to receive towels. Overall, the hotel failed to live up to our standards which was set before we embarked on our tour of Turkey.

Very luxurious building with many eye watering antique furniture, welcoming and joyful staff with great hospitality provides 24h service.
We booked a single bed room, tidy and economic but unfortunately with no street-side windows just closed curtained glass.
Great location with many destinations in reach, minutes away from Vizneciler for getaway trips, shopping and many restaurants and Cafe's.
Breakfast was self service buffet with covid-19 measurements in mind, although it can be better by providing seating and setting up tables.
The food was tasy but hot meals weren't heated enough and bread wasn't freshly baked.
Hotel amenities made our stay easier and more effective, on the other hand the walls weren't noise cancelling and felt less comforting.
Reception provided transportation assistant and helped with scaling lauggage which was great help, every feedback was concerned in mind.

Absolutely awful! I’m shocked by the positive reviews on here. First morning I woke up to drilling and I got moved rooms. Thinking that would be the end of it.. I was wrong. Banging, knocking, drilling and waking me up every morning without fail. Complained to Manager and showed videos but didn’t even get a response. One morning waited 2 hours for breakfast in my room and called reception 4 times! When I requested room service I was asked why not eat downstairs, then was told I would need to pay 10 Euros to bring up to my room. I am not fussy but this really frustrated me as was made to feel a nuisance. Was pestered for good reviews my first morning. On the surface looks good but the hotel is run appallingly and they honestly need get a grip on customer service. Would never visit again. Please save your money and look elsewhere.
