Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The good things about this hotel are certainly the friendly people who run the place and the location in the centre of Selcuk close to the train station and only a short walk to the bus terminal for minibusses to Ephesus. On the other hand, central location means it's quite busy and loud music from a nearby bar until late at night and the windows are not soundproof. It seems that their rooms are in different conditions, and maybe I was just unlucky to get a room that seemed quite neglected with an old and cramped bathroom and improvisational electrical installations. Worst of all was the really uncomfortable bed. I'm by no means a fussy sleeper, but waking up with back pain means a lot for me. Futhermore, many of the photos provided are not adequate anymore or people mixed up properties, e.g. there is not breakfast buffet, but you'll get a set breakfast plate. In conclusion, I was totally misled by the good reviews here, that I can not share, and I would not stay here again.

Thank you for your time. Sorry for the disappointment. It's end of the season and we will have a uplift for the bathrooms at the low season coming. Regards

The staff was amazing, the location was great, and the tour they arranged for us to Ephesus was perfect. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful our very short stay was at the Urkmez hotel. If you get tour guide Neezam (spelling?) you will be so lucky!

Our night at the Urkmez Hotel was delightful. The staff's warm and accommodating nature made us feel welcome from the start. What made this hotel stand out was its convenient location within a distance from the magnificent Ephesus archaeological site, Ephesus Museum and the ruin of Artemis. The stay at Urkmez was magical for my wife and me, very nice people, I think this really made a big difference - everyone went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. A decent room with a bathroom. After a day of exploring, it was a comfort to return to such a welcoming place. Highly recommended for history enthusiasts visiting the area.

We loved this little hotel and everyone was so friendly and helpfull. From getting a nice place for dinner to sharing some family recipes at breakfast. Situated next to some ruines of the roman aqueduct the view from the room towards the old castle was stunning. Will definitely recomend.

This hotel was a beautiful example of a wonderful family run business. They were very cooperative at all times and extremely attentive. The rooms are clean, well appointed, and the hotel is very quiet. The included breakfast was excellent, and a great way to start a full day of sightseeing. At every turn, the staff went over and above to take care of our every need and make the stay. Extremely memorable. Selcuk is a beautiful small town very safe and friendly. Don’t hesitate to stay in this town and spend time here.

We had a nice stay at this hotel even though the rooms didn’t look like on the booking sites. Decoration and amenities are basic and if you are not fussy, it’s an ok place in the pedestrian zone. Apparently, renovations will be carried out this year end. The location is within walking distance to many places. There is no elevator but not to worry, the owners will help carry the bags up and down. They even go to your car to get the luggage on a motor bike. :) I found the bathroom a bit tight. Tiny washbasin and no place to put anything. There were hooks on the door to hang up towels. For one person, it was ok but for more people, definitely a challenge. The bed was comfortable though. Had a good night’s sleep. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the daily Turkish-style breakfast.

This is a 3 stars hotel but for us it was 5 stars. The owners are very friendly, helpful and willing to please (sorry I can't remember their names). It is small but homely. The breakfast is genuinely Turkish and very, very good. It is centrally located in Selcuck, a small town that is the gateway to Ephesus.

This is situated in the middle of the Selcuk area where you can find lots of restaurants, convenient stores and accessible to tourist destinations. It is around 100meters from Selcuk train station and 300 meters from bus station. Anyways our stay at Urkmez Hotel is very homie. From the warm Turkish hospitality of the staff. To the fresh homemade breakfast served everyday. You will never feel that you are away. Even though i had an impromptu decision to avail Selcuk tour while having breakfast, Zafer eagerly helped me to find a tour for our two days stay. He also moved our breakfast time since Pamukkale tour will start at 830am. Thanks for making our stay worthwhile. Will be glad to visit again in the future. And the community also in Selcuk is warm Date of stay: April 2022
