Small intimate hotel with comfortable room, great food, and a fantastic in the old city area location. Easy walk to many cool sights - western wall, etc., Also because it's smaller maybe? Good customer service and courteous attention by staff.

It’s just not worth whether price they ask. They don’t provide drinking water in the room. You have to either pay their deserted restaurant for it or, as I was told to do, go out and find a shop. Staff unhelpful and unfriendly. No hot water for more than half the day. Decor is pretty bad. Light switches hidden behind the mattress so you have to pull the beds out to get at them. Breakfast finishes at 9am!! For much less money I’ve stayed at far better hotels in better locations in Jerusalem. The location is quite poor despite being quite close to the old city.

Arrived in evening but because PCR test results were not back we couldn’t go out and about. We were told restaurant at hotel couldn’t provide food for us. It had no food or chef! It wasn’t true as we met people next morning who had a meal an hour after we had asked. Breakfast was ok. No hot food until a tour bus arrived and then the hotel provided a much better variety of everything. Bedrooms clean and beds comfortable. Reception staff not friendly. Other staff were lovely.

We stayed here for five nights on a tour of various sites in the country outside of as well as inside the city of Jerusalem. The hotel was centrally situated and the walled city could be easily accessed on foot. It was a small family run hotel with an old fashioned air to it but quite charming in its own way. Our room was small but pleasant with all the necessary facilities and reasonably quiet at night. The food ws good ,certainly of a higher standard than earlier encountered in Israel and afterward there was a pleasant lounge to sit in. Would recommend staying here on a Jerusalem visit.

I styed here in March of this year with a group of people on a pilgrimage. My room was spotless, comfortable bed, and balcony that over looked the old anglican church . The style of the property is like a cosy old house, lots of sofas downstairs. The food presented well and a wide selection of choice for every meal including dessert. Service in the dining room and reception excellent. Smaller hotel but has beautiful garden at the rear to relax in. The garden tomb , old city wall, bus station and shops are all a short walk away makine this hotel and excellent base for pilgrims and other travllers.

We stayed at Christmas hotel on our pilgrimage to the holy lands. The hotel bedrooms were a little tired & some odd bits need updating, but it was very clean. Staff were very friendly & approachable, nothing was too much trouble.the food was amazing. They even made an amazing birthday cake for a member of our groups 40th birthday. It was delicious. Part of our tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, so we were pleased that we did not have to move to another hotel. It is conveniently located to visit most sites around the old city & felt safe walking around in the evenings. We will definitely return. Thank you Christmas hotel for looking after us

I was travelling in a large group of 50 people and spent 5 nights in the Christmas hotel in Jerusalem last week having travelled through the wonderful country of Israel. I was looking forward to staying here as the reviews were reasonable. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Rooms- small but clean. Bath minute I could not sit in the bath. There were no normal toiletries - shower caps, tissues. The hair dryer was a wall dryer and if you have long hair you would have burnt hands by the time you finished as the dryer handle got so hot. Definitely a health and safety issue. There was no drinking water in the room and the tap water was not safe to drink or clean your teeth. No safe in the room so you had to go down stairs and use the safe in the lobby. Fine if the staff were there but they often were not so it was an great inconvenience. Food- well where do you begin. Breakfast was very poor. When you are in a country which grows wonderful fruit there was very little on offer. Apples and oranges if the oranges hadn’t all disappeared. The selection for a cooked breakfast was very poor and cool if not cold. Less is more as the expression goes. The bread was either still frozen and in chunks or stale. The variety of bread in Israel is amazing but I felt as if we were being served Tesco’s basic bread all the time. Dinner was also very basic which is absolutely fine provided that it was tasty but it was unimaginative and tasteless. If you moved close to the kitchen you could smell that the staff were smoking in there which I was surprised at. I had no sense of any pride being taken in the food being offered. I like a glass of wine with my meal. If I wanted one I had to go to the bar to get one. There was no waiter service. To be fair if you didn’t finish your bottle of wine you could keep it in your room until the next night but the waiters refused to get you a wine glass saying you had to get your own from the bar. The staff were surly. Reception well there’s an experience. The staff either weren’t there or were on their phones so you could wait several minutes before you were acknowledged. Room keys were left on the reception counter so if you were passing by you could pick up any key and break into a room. One day I deliberately put my key on the staff work station so it was out of reach and I saw the staff member pick it up and put it on the counter so it was easily accessible. Also from a health and safety point of view we sometimes wanted to go out really early say 6am to wander around Jerusalem but couldn’t get out of the hotel as the doors were locked. No staff member around. What would have happened in the event of a fire? From a plus point it was 10 minutes from the Damascus gate and about 6 minutes from heroes gate. Would I go back? Unlikely although with the knowledge I now have I would know to take a hairdryer and only book B and B at best. Even a local cafe would be better than the food we were served. I hate complaining but my trip was expensive so I did not feel I had value for money at all..

A very basic and dated but clean hotel. 15 minute walk to Herods gate and old Jerusalem. Friendly staff. Breakfast again was very basic but ok. Probably a bit overpriced for what it was but everything is overpriced in Jerusalem

Thus was the hotel we were booked into as part of our tour. Old fashioned but very clean and friendly they do their best to serve you. English is good (remember it is their second language). Food is good. They tried their best to accommodate my gluten free diet. Tip - if you are on a gluten free diet for medical reasons take some long life bread and toasty bags with you. Their gf bread us not good and is rather stale. Location is good - just a 10 minute easy walk to the Damascus Gate and the walled city. We were part of a tour so all travel was organised for us.

We enjoyed the homey feeling of the Christmas Hotel. Frankly I'd expected some nod to Christmas but saw none other than the name. We did enjoy a few happy hour as part of our stay but I am not sure if that was normal for the hotel or part of the tour. As least you know they do it so you can check if interested. Spaces are rather old but kept up. It feels more like visiting an aunt than a hotel but fun. Food is average but hot and plentiful.
