The AQ is tucked away in the southern Muslim Quarter but close to all other locations, and is just a couple of minutes walk from the souk once you work out which lane to take. The rooms are very comfortable and the old house renovation very atmospheric. The staff are really helpful and breakfast is very good value as well...

Just returned from 3 nights at the Antique Khan. This is the second time I've stayed in a restored Damascene house, I really liked the previous place, but Antique Khan is much better. They've decorated it and furnished it really well. If your looking for a hotel with all the facilities this is not the place for you. However if...

Right in the heart of the old city, beautiful air conditioned courtyard surrounded by rooms filled with antique furniture. clean comfy beds, nice bathrooms, decent aircon. best breakfast I had in Syria, friendly, helpful staff who spoke good english and were happy to help and advise with booking taxis, further accomodation etc. great location for exploring the old city. We stayed here for 3 nights, while seeing Damascus and the surrounding area. When we arrived we found it necessary to bargain quite hard to pay the price we later saw advertised on their website. Our first impressions were great, we loved the 2 level room and the whole decor in the courtyard and the general feel of the place....

We stayed there for 3 nights and were very pleased with the room, and the whole athmosphere of the hotel. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, very clean with comfortable beds. The downside was the lack of bathtubs in the rooms, given that Syria has a great hammam culture. One problem surprisingly not mentioned in any of the reviews was...

Our extended family stayed at the Antique Khan on two several occasions while travelling around Syria last month. On both times we were very disappointed with the management. The guy at the front desk is a nervous fellow who seems to be under a lot of pressure to make this new hotel a success, but goes about it the wrong...

Staff had welcoming manner but not attentive and slovenly.eg smoking whilst serving breakfast. Rooms quaintly decorated but tired looking. Internet failed to connect and manager not willing to give much attention to solving the problem. Some rooms for our party were cramped and the bed inconveniently at mezanine level away from bathroom which one could not swing a cat in....

I think we were the only residents here (mid-Jan '10). The rooms were ok (maybe a little tight, but it's what you would expect from an old traditional house). Easy access to the main sights as it is in the Old City. The service was fine, if not a little slow (well, we were the only ones there). All in...
