I brought my wife to have a nice weekend getaway. I will admit the Inn on Oak was my second choice (due to advertising and availability of information) but I am glad we stayed here! The reservation process consisted of emails to Gini about availability and info on the rooms. They do not accept credit card or other online forms...

You are very kind. I enjoyed chatting with you and I thank you as well for being willing to have a later (10:00am) breakfast so that I could go to the airport to say goodbye to my son who is deploying. Sharing your personal military experiences and your reassurance was welcome and very helpful. Hope to see you again!

My sister-in-law and I decided to leave the city to celebrate her birthday and visit the Sallie house. Found this jewel on the internet. We arrived late and our hostess and handsome grandson made us feel right at home from the very first. We stayed two nights and was sad our weekend was coming to a close. Our hostess is...

This is the secondly time we've stayed here and it's just wonderful! We cozied up in the sitting area to watch the World Series and had a great time! Our room was clean and the bed was very comfy. It was nice having access to a kitchen as well. Breakfast was delicious too. We were the only guests for the...

Not clean..No mention of steep stairs to get to room. Not a problem for me but definitely could be. Bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way and other party rented second room..shared bathroom. No light left on outside for us coming in late..very dark. This does not seem to be in a very good part of town. Our bed was...

I'm sorry you felt your stay was not as expected. I'm unsure what your complaint is about the cleanliness as nothing was said to me about any problems as such. Also, the other room was unoccupied during your stay and I offered it to you for use by some friends of yours who chose to stay where they were already...

Nice place to stay. Clean and cool for July. The room was clean and welcoming. Having a kitchen in the connecting room was very nice. Free Wifi, TV, games, and library were available. It was very private which was a plus for us. The price is excellent! We would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay! Very clean and comfortable and so nicely decorated. Felt very much at home. Stayed with a friend and fellow genealogist for two nights while doing some research in the area. Couldn't have chosen a better place. The hostess has thought of everything that one might need, and the breakfasts were yummy and so nicely served. Can't...

We made a reservation in March for a May stay. She requested a check for the room which I sent a week later. When we arrived, no one was home. While at dinner, I called and left a message asking her to call me when our room was ready. I never got a call and no one answered repeated calls....

She is right. I royally botched this one. These poor kids drove across two states and I completely forgot they were coming. I don't blame them one bit for being upset. I was 100% in the wrong here and they have my sincerest apologies for their dissapointment and inconvenience, and I would like the opportunity to make it up to...

For a wedding in nearby Leavenworth, I chose this B&B over well rated local budget hotel chains hoping breakfast quality and personal touch would add to the comparable value. The Inn on Oak Street did not disappoint. For my husband and myself and our 15 year old son, we had two separate bedrooms joined by a sitting room/kitchen and shared...

Me and my friend stayed in The Inn on Oak Street for 1 night when we were visiting Atchison for a haunted tour and exploring. The house itself is beautiful, it's an old victorian house with a big wrap around porch. The host is so nice! They also had dogs we could play with. We felt very welcomed. The actual...

“For $10 more the larger room has a bigger bed and more floor space and a "vanity" for dressing/hair styling.”
  • Very comfortable bed in the larger bedroom
  • Fall morning light in the rooms is lovely ... this is a chair in the smaller bedroom
  • A perfect little kitchen ... great option for longer stays.
  • The smaller second bedroom
  • Coming home to this cozy sitting room was very nice at the end of a long day.
