Nice place to stay as a business man. You can reduce your work pressure when you see the lake and Shwe Dagon pagoda. Then comfortable and perfect meeting room with great tea break. Breakfast is great to fill your stomach, when you wake up on hungry. We hope that we will be again and again.

We came down to have breakfast buffet at 7:30 and one of their main dishes - chicken is not available anymore and they wont refill it . They should have enough for everyone and it was not line we went there very late. The closing time was 10 am and arriving at 7:30 not having main dishes to eat was not acceptable. Right after that I was going to shower and there was no hot water. I waited about an hour but just no hot water 🙃. So checked out without showering to start my day 😐

My wife and I stayed 2 day in this hotel. The hotel was apart from main street, so it was hard to walk to any place. But the hotel was excellent to us with good view ( Shwedagon Pagoda). The staff was very kind, and the room was comfortable and wide. In 2 days, we were satisfied. The roof top for breakfast was very good with good view. All was good to us.

Stayed in this hotel, now called Green Hill Hotel, for 6 nights in July 2012. This hotel seems completely renovated recently with all the new room facilities, lobby, modern lift....

In room, you can found 32inch Sony TV, Mitsubishi air-con, small fridge with mini bar. Internet is charged by time, 1 hour for US$1 or 1 day unlimited for US$6. You can use it in room, lobby or in the dinning area. Room is pretty large itself, with a large bed, working desk, 2 chairs and a coffee table.

Beware that, some rooms of this hotel is facing a temple or monastery that I was waked up by the morning class right at 4am some nights.

House keeping is not that efficient that my room was make up every day very late in the afternoon like after 4pm. You can see staff on the same floor to make up other rooms, but I guess efficiency is not introduced in this country, some 4-5 staff to make up a room at a time, and not sure how long they took to make up the whole floor. You can see housekeeping staff are around and smiling to you.

Location is a 10 minutes drive from Yangon city center, like Sakura Tower or Trader Hotel. The area is quite and barely no shops around.

A tip in traveling Yangon in my 7 days trip that I always use US$ to paid. I don't even exchange a cent of local money. Myanmar people do very concise about the quality of you US$ note. It must be new and very good condition. When you get a 100 note for $20 bill, you will be amazed with the US$ note they exchanged, for sure like brand new. It was very funny that I got a $100 note, and the staff told me it is rejected because of the printing margin of that note is larger than other. They are very picky on that.

The hotel is located far from the airport and if you got traffic is more complicated - the room got good size but not really clean - carpet, not Vaccum - bed not tidy - smelling in the room- The bathroom is not very clean - glass dirty - mirror not fit - bathtub hair inside.
The restaurant on the 8 floors is a nice view but the service can be better - The menu is not really attractive but ok - breakfast poor for an international company and the dishes are cold. The management needs to be more focus on the guest than their paperwork and phone. At the checkout, they charge me minibar and i haven't consumed anything there.I think they need to control better. I get out of this hotel not happy ! No appolgies from the reception or duty - poor quality of service for an hotel 4 stars!

Let me start by saying the staff tries hard but since nobody on staff speaks english it is very difficult to communicate what is needed.

With that said let me fill you in on the details:

1. Room - the room is pretty nice and relatively new, however, every room is surrounded by construction from morning until evening. If the hotel is renovating a room regardless of what you ask - they will not stop the renovation. 3 sides of the hotel are surrounded by construction of other buildings so daytime is a bit noisy regardless. While the room is pretty nice, it smeels terrible. It seems there is a problem with the water supply and the stench that intermittently comes out of the bathroom is dreadful.

2. Facilities - there are none. No gym, no pool and barely a restaurant

3. Food - breakfast is a disaster. There are twice as many people looking for seats as there are seats available. There are 2 cooks making eggs to order and noodles to order but with a 100 customers you are lucky to get the fresh made food - and if you do, it is often incorrect. There are 2 many people plus the cooking staff speaks no english. I also had the misfortune of ordering the dinner buffet. If breakfast is barely acceptable dinner was a disaster. $20 and honestly 5 plates of cheap chicken, rice, noodles, vegetables and that is it. A buffet usually has more than 5 choices. Also, all this food is supposed to be kept hot but it never is - same as breakfast

4. Internet - I had better speed 20 years ago using a 26K dial up modem.

5. $200 per night - honestly, I would not pay $15 a night here. Also, they are very proud this will be a Best Western - if that is the case and this hotel is reflective of what Best Western is - the brand must absolutely suck!!!

Overall the value of the room is good considering the prices in Yangon are going up. The breakfast is average but always full and at times difficult to find a seat. The wifi in the room is very poor and not stable. But if you go outside the room the wifi is ok. It's in a good location but for business travellers that needs reliable internet this is not a good choice.

As part of the Best Western brand, this hotel fits in with all you'd expect from a fairly standard chain. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained, if somewhat tired. The breakfast was a challenge as the hotel was full and there were so many guests all on the same schedules that finding anywhere to sit was impossible and the staff were struggling to keep up with clearing the tables and replenish the food. Not in the best location for the city centre, but tou can walk to the centre of Yangon, but it's quite a trek. Better off taking a taxi.

Best you ask them directly as it may depend on how early. Most hotels usually will at least take your luggage and allow you to sit in the air-conditioned lobby. They have a website and contact details are there. They were very accomodating to us.

We stayed here at the start and end of our tour, travelling with friends,. The hotel doesn't have a spa/gym or pool. It is a good hotel, and the rooms are large, however I think the best thing for you to do is to contact them direct regarding the offers you ask about. Hope I have been of help.
