We stayed at 100 Moon for 2 nights after arriving in Yangon. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room and en suite bath were clean. The bathroom was a bit basic, but fitting what you'd expect at a mid range guest house.

The location was really ideal for a few reasons. The house itself is on a quieter street in a neighbourhood so there is no traffic noise. It's walking distance to the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, and an easy taxi to the city or restaurants around the city. And it's 45 to an hour to the airport with the traffic.

Great value for money, and a good location as a base for exploring Yangon.

We decided to book this hotel based on the review from Trip advisor website. We stayed there for three nights. The room is larger than my expectation. The location is on the alley of the street , privacy, quiet, and its near to downtown. The breakfast is fantastic.

This is a modest B&B property set in a converted house in a safe and quiet neighbourhood North of the Shwedagon Temple and 30 minutes taxi drive from the airport (traffic permitting!!). We booked this hotel purely to enable our transition through Yangon overnight and were pleasantly surprised by the size and cleanliness of our room with all facilities included - although with a slightly small bathroom.
Staff and owner were helpful and spoke good English and breakfast was served on a pleasant terrace at the front of the hotel including eggs, toast, fresh fruit and coffee.
We had no complaints about our stay although did feel the $90 rate was perhaps on the high side compared to other similar properties we had stayed at during our trip.

65 USD/room night Single Superior. Nice small room but quiet place, near to the royal lake, near to holiday inn restaurant, Chartrium Hotel. 100moon Inn is a family own boutique and conveniently located close to the Royal Lake (Kan-Dawgyi Lake), Kandawgyi Natural Park and in a walking distance from Bo Gyoke Aung San Museum. 100moon inn guarantees a tranquil and fantastic stay.

We have stayed at 100 Moon Inn at the beginning and in the end of our Myanmar journey. The guesthouse is located in a quite area of Yangon but downtown and main tourist attractions can be easily reached by taxi. All our taxi drivers found the location without any difficulty.

The rooms are clean with comfortable beds and a nice and tidy bathroom with a good and hot shower. Breakfast comes with toast, marmelade, fruit and scrambled eggs, basic but typical for Myanmar. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, we would definitely stay there again!

I really appreciate this hotel. Price is reasonable for Yangon (90 US for family room which was actually a triple) and the room was huge. Very clean, beds were very comfortable with nice bedding, pillows were just right, towels were fluffy and good sized. Shower drained a bit slowly, and maybe the showerhead was a bit challenged in staying in its place, but the water pressure was good. I liked the magnetic glass shower door. Aircon worked quite well. Kettle with tea, coffee and complementary water.
So much to like. The location is away from downtown so it is very quiet with an occasional rooster which added to the charm. The heavy wood decor is appealing. The staff is very friendly and if they don't all speak English, someone does! Breakfast was good with omelet, meat, toast, juice, and real coffee out on an attractive veranda surrounded by neighboring houses.
Here is how a hotel earns its stripes: Both nights we checked in quite late, well past the youngsters' bedtime. Somehow, the staff volunteered to bring us some fried noodles from some restaurant. This was a real life saver for us, well above and beyond the call of duty.
In addition, one of my poor kids maxed out on her travel quotient and managed to get sick right in the lobby with no prior warning. I felt horrible, but the staff was so kind, they acted as though it were no trouble whatsoever.
I had booked this through Agoda. I didn't feel compelled to drop 400 on a fancy hotel and was keen for a family hotel with character in a quiet setting. The family was very pleased with the 100 Moon Inn. Highly recommended!

This inn is essentially a private house converted into rooms. The manager/owner speaks good English, the other helpful staff not so much.

I had a large room with the door right next to the entrance. It was still quiet and with the property off the road and surrounded by trees it is mostly the sounds of birds that might disturb one. The room was clean, bed comfortable, a/c, fridge, safe. Bathroom smallish but fine, big shower. Soap, shampoo provided.

TV but only 2 channels - movies and lifestyle. But good wifi. No restaurant on site but a good and popular local restaurant within 5min walk. Western restaurants a bit further. Drinks available at the inn. Breakfast consists of 4 choices - 3 local meals or a plain omelette served with toast and fruit.

Can walk to park and lake; could walk to pagoda and town if keen on walking but calling a taxi could be easier.

Needed to stay in Yangon an extra day for rest and had no problem deciding to stay on that extra day at 100 Moon Inn. If you are after being closer to the nightlife action this might not be the place for you.

Positives
- Large triple room, very spacious albeit a bit dark
- One queen bed and a large single bed
- Quite place away from the busy, dusty streets
- The owner will buy and deliver food from the closest Chinese restaurant for you
- One of the boys will run and fetch a taxi for you when requested
- Decent house, tastefully decorated, comfortable room and comfy beds, friendly staff

1) Sunday night mosquito fumigation
On our very first night there, between 1800-1900 hours just after putting baby to sleep, as I was sitting on the bed I heard this deafening lawn mower noise coming closer and closer to us, then it stopped. And all of the sudden it was hard to breath and I could not see much of the sitting area because the whole room was filled with smoke! I quickly grabbed the sleeping baby, ran out of the room upstairs to the reception area to ask what was wrong! With very limited English the owner later managed to tell me that it was the regular Sunday night mosquito fumigation and somehow the fumes got into our room.

He knew about it and yet did nothing to warn us, knowing full well that we checked in with a small baby.

Not acceptable.

2) Room change
Understandably I was very worried about the toxicity of the fumes and our baby, requested that we change room to another one that's the same size and setup. There was only one tripple room, all other rooms were smaller which meant a downgrade, but the owner refused to give a discount even if we downgrade to a smaller room to avoid the smoke.
We ended up having to wait until the smoke cleared, coming back to and sleeping in the same room that night.

Such welcoming event on our first night. It was an extremely stressful experience, had we not pre-paid for the 3 nights we would have moved hotel the very next morning!

Two big thumbs down for this experience and the owner's customer service alone. Well, no customer service to speak of.

3) Too many mosquitoes, no mosquito net!
So with mosquitoes everywhere outside, and quite a few inside the room all the three of us got bitten everynight. Our poor one year old baby, she got bitten every night, on her legs, arms and face.

Definitely don't recommend staying here with kids. You get eaten alive by mosquitoes in the room.

4) Housekeeping & room cleaning
Even though fresh towels and sheets are changed everyday, however there is a lot left to be desired in the housekeeping department when it comes to room cleaning service.

The mop was used for the entire room without being washed because a water bucket was nowhere to be seen during the operation. So afterwards, even though the entire floor was mopped it still felt dirty and our feet got dirty in minutes again.

Air freshener was used but it actually was stinky and quite suffocating!

5) No room service for breakfast
Despite having pre-ordered our breakfasts, the next morning when I rang reception, the owner refused to have breakfast brought to our room. We ended up feeding our baby in the room, then having breakfast in the courtyard later, which pretty much took the whole morning. By the time we finished breakfast and managed to get out of the house, it was 11am!
Subsequent mornings, after even more repeat requests they reluctantly brought breakfasts to our room so we could eat and feed our child at the same time to save time.

It should not be that difficult with room service, it's pretty normal, especially given we have a little baby with us.

This BnB is not at all baby friendly.

6) Very limited English
No one at this BnB could speak English adequately so they can make themselves understood, nor could they understand my requests without me having to repeat them for the nth time.
- the young boys could understand some but not speak English at all
- the owner misunderstood my request for dinner, ordered too many dishes for 2 people
- the owner misunderstood my request for taxi to the airport, instead of waiting for me to call reception around 10am, a taxi was ordered in exact at 10am. The taxi driver ended up waiting for nearly an hour before we were ready.

It's a family business, so obviously they tried their best but their service still need many improvements to make it worth while.

Overall, it was barely a satisfactory stay given the problems described above. The fact the fumes from the mosquito fumigation got into our room while baby was sleeping and the owner did not let us know in advance was unacceptable. Adequate English is a must to ensure sufficient communication.

The best tips I can give you
Tip #1: if you are planning to stay on a Sunday night, check with them about mosquito fumigation
Tip #2: use an English/Burmese translator (such as Google Translate) to avoid misunderstandings
Tip #3: the BnB is always almost empty, so you probably don't need to book so many nights in advance. Stay for a couple of nights first and see if it's worth the budget option.

Recommendation? Only if the owner improves on those points mentioned above, then yes.

For me, I will be staying elsewhere next time around.

This is a small, lovely, quiet hotel on a very quiet street in the Banan neighborhood which is not far from the center of town and close to one of the parks on a lake. We took a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast in the patio downstairs was good and it's possible to order a local breakfast. WIFI worked well. The staff is wonderful and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, especially as a getaway from the hectic, chaotic center of the city.
