We only stayed here for 1 night but managed to get a good look around and used a lot of the facilities. First of all, a lady called Veronica contacted me prior to our arrival and offered an upgrade to a better room with a host of other benefits for an extra $25. The main benefit for us was the guaranteed early check in at 10 and the view of Shwedagon Pagoda. The upgrade also included free beer and wine and canapes between 6 and 8 PM. We were due to arrive in Yangon at 6 am that day and all we needed is a relaxing day at the pool so the upgrade was gladly accepted. We got to the hotel just after 7 I think, we left our luggage and went for breakfast in the nearby coffee shop. We returned at 9 am ready to wait another hour but were told the room was ready! We stayed in room 546. The room was beautiful, very big with the promised view of the Pagoda. Our upgrade also included free mini bar (yay!) and really high end bathroom toiletries. The only thing that we weren't sure about were the outside noises. The hotel is located just outside the zoo and there were some pretty loud lion noises throughout the day and night which felt like you were on a safari. Pretty weird but we found it funny. We spent the day at the pool which was really nice. We had some lunch there too. In the evening, we took full advantage of the free beer and wine in the Verandah bar but the canapes were disappointing. We got 2 plates of the same canapes, nothing amazing, I think I expected more from this option given it's a 5 star hotel. It was also super loud in the due to the CNY celebrations, the drum noises went on forever. After 8 we went back to our room and got room service which was delicious but took a while to get delivered. We weren't in a rush though so all good. We arranged a taxi for the next morning with the concierge who was also helpful in getting our postcards sent for us. The breakfast was plentiful and really varied as you would expect from such a hotel. Pretty much anything you wanted was there and were were gutted we only had 20 minutes to eat, should have got up a bit earlier! Overall, it is a lovely hotel and good value for money for such a luxurious place. The location is also good, in the more leafy and upmarket area of Yangon, walking distance to a mall and Karaweik Palace area.

When you first walk into the hotel there is a huge entry in keeping with larger grand hotels. The lower level has a small cafe and a large seafood restaurant. Up a set of stairs onto the mezzanine level and you could find a bar and another restaurant. We did not visit the fitness area or pool but know they were there. The least inviting room was actually the hotel registration off the main entryway.

The hotel rooms were large size and very nice. The shower was a large walk in with great water pressure and hot water. The TV offered many English stations. The Wifi worked better than most and the bed was suitable comfy. I can see why this is a favorite with the Travel Agencies.

As we have seen in Myanmar, the service by all the workers was great. Everyone is always kind and helpful.

The location is good for some things. The old city of Yangon is easily visited from this location and you can literally walk to the zoo. The downside is that this part of town is pretty old and not all that appealing. If you venture outside the hotel, for example, to find a tea shop on neighboring streets for breakfast, you will find the open sewers on the streets and pretty decadent buildings and the restaurants options are minimal and below standards (aside from BBQ place across the street which is great for dinner).

Comments by other reviewers about the lack of overhead lighting or the mustiness of some of the areas are accurate, but then this is the tropics and kind of expected. But for 60-80 dollars for a room versus the 100-200 Plus for the western establishments, it is a great place to stay.

We stayed at Rose Garden twice and can not fault it. The rooms are spacious (a little on the dark side), clean and with a great bathroom. We found the staff so friendly and helpful and could not do enough to help.

The swimming pool is a real delight and a joy to come back to after a long day of sightseeing.

Top tip - make sure you bring new and undamaged US $ as they will not accept anything else.

Highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant opposite called Shwe Li BBQ is fabulous. Their BBQ fish is the best in town.

The amenities are good with good size rooms and a pleasant sitting out area around the pool. The meal provided for our tour group was very good and if you can use the happy hour, the drinks prices are reasonable. Our problem is that when we came to check out at about 22:30 on Sat 18 Feb an additional charge of 4 USD had been added to our bill for water from the mini bar. The hotel provided two bottles of complimentary drinking water and our tour company provided us with as much bottled drinking water as we wanted. We had no reason to use the mini bar water. The dispute was raised with the receptionist but she said that she did not have the authority to remove the charge. We called for the duty manager and he would not take our word that we had not taken water from the mini bar. We took him to our room and showed him that the mini bar was well stocked with 2x 1 ltr of and a smaller bottle. We pointed out to him that there was no stock record/inventory of the mini bar contents so we had no knowledge of what should have been in the mini bar when we arrived. The manager then agreed to remove the charge but with no grace or apology. Suggest to future residents that you insist on a stock list for the mini bar when you move in

We spent 2 relaxing nights in the Rose Garden Hotel. The rooms are very modern, clean and quiet. All staff from reception to cleaners were always very helpful, smiling and saying hello. The pool was a very nice oasis but I must say the gym was fantastic being very large with all new equipment. I cannot forget the General Manager Holger - what a nice guy, easy to talk to and asked us if everything to our liking. He even gave us local tourist information. He was always a seen around the hotel and very approachable.

I stayed at Rose Garden Hotel for four nights during my 11 day trip visiting Myanmar in November 2019. The hotel staff is very courteous and full of energy to help. I had a very late arrival (~1 am due to flight schedule) and the bell service was at the door greeting and helping with my luggage upon my arrival.

Most of my trip planning was done on the spot at the hotel after I arrived in Yangon. Special thanks to the gentleman, Nay Win, the golden key concierge who amazingly put together a personalized 6 day tour package for me. I had a great time on my tour visiting Bagan and Inle Lake. 10/10 will recommend Nay Win for any concierge related requests.

Breakfast at the hotel has a very wide variety of food selection tailored to different personal tastes. My favorites were the freshly prepared fish and the noodle soup of different local style for each day.

The hotel SPA massage was legit amazing and affordable (US standard). It was real nice to enjoy a relaxing foot massage within the hotel before getting ready for bed some nights after a long day of touring Yangon. Next to the SPA is the hotel gym that I got to use in the morning during my stay. It's a full size gym and comes with a separate yoga room for people like me who could use it for meditation.

The hotel is very uniquely designed with a lot of local south east Asian culture and architecture elements. The hotel design with the great level of attention to details made my staying at the Rose Garden Hotel a treat itself.

This is a fabulous hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean, well-appointed. Shower is the BEST. The whole place is lovely. The only drawback—and this is big for me—the light in the room is the worst I’ve ever encountered. Their excuse is LED bulbs but they must have bought them from North Korea. LED bulbs in the states are very bright. These are dim in the extreme. They have signs in the room that you can appeal for more light but what they provide is a joke. I imagine many people don’t care at all but if you are depressed by Dracula-level lighting or want to read a book bring a strong headlamp.
Seafood restaurant in the hotel was pretty awful but there’s a great restaurant across the street.

I was impressed after the moment I entered, the reception manager greeted and personally escorted me to the reception to ensure a smooth check-in. I was explained all the charges and given a nice room with wooden flooring and great beds. The shower in the room was what impressed me. It was a good sized shower with nice amenities. I was in the hotel to attend a New Years Eve party and it was a wonderfully organized with a full course meal. The managers at the event greeted all the attendees and made you feel special. I also available a massage in the spa area. The concierge also arranged a taxi tour of Yangon for me. All in all, it was a great stay at this hotel for me. The location of this hotel is great. It is located in a fancy street of Yangon and close to the Shwedagon Pagoda and the popular lake of Yangon.

Booked on line and was very pleased I did. Rooms were big and comfortable, entry had a sense of old world charm. The value for money was excellent, particularly when you add in the happy hour bonus, free(limited) mini bar and g facilities. Staff were very friendly. Food options within the hotel were very good covered everything from ice cre and cake to fine dining. Location was quiet, I found the chanting from the monastery across the road absolute bonus. Highly recommended.
