A new hotel tucked away at the fringes of the Yangon city center. Its location is a quiet upscale residential neighborhood known as the Golden Valley. This is a small hotel but with great amenities, grass covered and landscaped yard with a swimming pool and a modest gym.

The rooms are well furnished, simply decorated and very restful. The bathrooms are also aptly designed, except for its door that one has to step aside to be able to shut the door, minor inconvenience. The room and bathroom, and the hotel as a whole, are well kept. The linens, bed sheets, beds and pillows are very clean and very comfortable. Towels are spic and span, large, thick, soft and changed daily. The hotel provides complimentary coffee, tea, bottled water, fruits and fresh roses everyday. The deluxe room I stayed in has a lounging chair, mini-bar and flat screen TV. Free wi fi is available in the room and in the entire hotel (restaurant and lobby).

The hotel staffs are all very courteous and friendly and the service is excellent with staffs every ready to assist (e.g open door of the taxi, carry your staff, etc). The housekeeping staffs are very efficient and so are the restaurant staffs.

The hotel restaurant is beautifully laid out as the design integrates the indoor with the outdoor landscaped yard and the pool. A patio connects the dining room to the yard and swimming pool area which is a very pleasant place for morning coffee and breakfast. The hotel lays out daily a modest but generous buffet breakfast complete with fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices, green salad, cereals, pan cakes, congee, noodles or fried rice, sausage and ham, noodles and of course eggs.

Although the hotel is not within the city center of Yangon, there are numerous restaurants (serving local and international dishes) within 5 to 10 minutes walk, including an outlet of Lotteria (Korean fastfood) and a Korean grocery store. Taxi ride to Shwedagon Pagoda and Peoples’ Park from the hotel is about 2,500 to 3,500 kyats and 4,000 to 5,000 kyats to the Bogyoke Market. For those who do not mind longer walks, Sedona Hotel and Inya Lake are about 15 minutes by foot. Inya Lake is pleasant for late afternoon walk and sunset viewing. A Thai restaurant and some local restaurants are located along the lake.

By the way, the reason why the hotel is called Hotel M is pretty obvious once you step into the lobby adorned by a blown up photograph of no other than Marilyn Monroe.

I stayed over a month in this hotel and enjoyed every moment of it.

We stayed at the Hotel M for 8 nights and enjoyed it so much . It was far enough away but near enough to the town centre if that makes sense . The staff couldn't do enough for us . Breakfast was fine and late afternoon by pool with complimentary cocktail a must . My wife slipped on the floor of the Tourist Information Office as it was soaking wet and the staff at the Hotel so helpful with first aid . Would go back again .

This hotel may be small but is very nice and clean. The staff is amazingly polite and speaks English. Rooms are relatively large and arranged in Western style, especially the bathrooms. I recommend it especially for long-term stay.

We stayed for a total of 5 nights in January 2017. Could not fault our stay, huge room, spotlessly clean. We arrived at 6am after an overnight bus trip from Bagan, we were given an upgraded room & invited to have breakfast. Breakfast was amazing, omelettes etc cooked to order, the following morning staff remembered how I liked my cup of tea & personally delivered to our table whilst I chose my food. Free cocktails at 5pm by the pool, lovely fruit basket & flowers in our room every night, complimentary laundry (5 or 6 items a day). Ok it is a little away from downtown (but only a three dollar taxi fare) this place in an oasis in a very busy city. We went to the city each morning then returned to relax by the "very Bali" pool, then refreshed returned to the city in the cool of the evening. On our last day our fight was not till 8pm, we were given late check out for free & booked a taxi thru the hotel for $8 AUD. Love this place & can't recommend it highly enough.
A big THANK YOU to all the staff, from management to housekeeping to waiters to security..........we will return

A superb position and great pool and gardens at this small boutique hotel. Executive rooms excellent, spacious, light and well equipped. Breakfast only OK. Quiet location with good nearby restaurants but not walkable to main tourist attractions. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Well-kept hotel in the business district of the city. The front desk was incredibly helpful in booking taxis and in recommending areas to explore. Breakfast was included and was delicious, great way to start the day. This hotel is in walking distance to a few local restaurants that cater to visitors, so the menus are in English. Not a ton in the area, but it's super easy to get a taxi downtown for only a few dollars. Highly recommended.

We have been at the hotel for 3 nights, we have had the greatest service and the room standard is great.

Even though the location might be a bit off, its still worth it to stay here.

It feels like you are in a lonely isolated location. But actually you are in the city centre. When we come back we will go back to this hotel.
