Neighbourhood
Samcheongdong / Bukchon
This historic neighbourhood was traditionally home to Seoul’s middle and upper-classes. Now it’s most famed for its clusters of beautiful, traditional Korean homes (called hanok), many of which are found in Bukchon. Many of these homes have now been converted into restaurants, cafes, shops, and even guesthouses, and their unique architecture offers a look at Korea’s traditional beauty. Samcheongdong’s main and side streets attract locals and tourists alike for their quaint and charming scenery, while the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) serves as the residence for South Korea’s president. Art fans will love exploring the many independent and private art galleries in the area.

Great host, traditional style accommodation. You'll be sleeping on a soft mattress on the floor, very basic room and tiny all-encompassing bathroom, but at least it's your own! Take your shoes off! You can wear shoes in the tiny courtyard but not along the wooden...More
