We stayed in the Sopoong Annex in December with our 4 year old daughter and were thrilled with the accommodation. The house is clean, comfortable, and made us feel like we were living like traditional Koreans. KJ and Paul go above and beyond to ensure that their guests are comfortable and have a great visit. KJ gives the best tours...

Hi Jessica, Thank you so much for your review. This is first review about our Annex, which was just open last December. Great to hear some positive feedbacks from your family! And thanks again for the New York mug. It reminds me of Ludvik's whenever I see it in my room! I just started to collect that kind as well,...

KJ goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. He is very thoughtful and kind. We had amazing breakfasts, a great tour of the area, and a delicious tea time! And the house is amazing!

Sopoong rightfully deserves the #1 spot on Tripadvisor for B&Bs in Seoul. The hanok itself is exactly as how it was pictured- beautiful, clean, inviting and cosy. If you are seeking absolute privacy for you and your party, please book the entire hanok for your stay like my friends and I did. KJ and Paul are cherries on the cake...

Dear Michelle, Thank you v much for your kind review! It is a Christmas gift for me! =) I think your stay at Sopoong was amazing because people who stayed here were amazing. I mean it. Only those who deserve the value are actually able to appreciate it. This is what we (arrogantly and) strongly believe in. You deserve it,...

If you are still looking for a hanok to complete your stay in Seoul, this is the place. I read tonnes of hanok reviews searching for the perfect hanok till I came across Sopoong. Sopoong is a small hanok but super neat & cosy. Toilets were very clean (therefore, my friend is still using her iphone despite dropping it into...

This is our first time staying in a traditional hanok house. It is an unique experience. The breakfast that we had for the 2 days there was awesome! Thanks to KJ mother and Paul for the meals. The staff is very helpful and always ask if we need any help around the banchok village area. Perhaps you should be prepared...

Staying in Samcheongdong / Bukchon

Neighbourhood Profile
Samcheongdong / Bukchon
This historic neighbourhood was traditionally home to Seoul’s middle and upper-classes. Now it’s most famed for its clusters of beautiful, traditional Korean homes (called hanok), many of which are found in Bukchon. Many of these homes have now been converted into restaurants, cafes, shops, and even guesthouses, and their unique architecture offers a look at Korea’s traditional beauty. Samcheongdong’s main and side streets attract locals and tourists alike for their quaint and charming scenery, while the Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae) serves as the residence for South Korea’s president. Art fans will love exploring the many independent and private art galleries in the area.
