I stayed here during the peak of summer for the first time after reading plenty of good reviews. Most of it lived up to expectations but I'll just list down what I experienced. Location is fairly near to Gwangheungchang station, less than 5minutes walk - close to Hongdae and Sinchon area. Neighbourhood is quieter than other areas, there's a couple...

This place is situated in Hongdae near Hongik University. It is also walking distance from Sinchon shopping area. This place is very convenient as subway is 10 minutes walk away, there are convenience stores and ample food stores around the area. We got to know about Mori Guesthouse from a recommendation of a friend. My group of friends and I...

This guest house has all the facilities you need and more. The girls dorms have a make up room with blow dryers and straighteners and the bathrooms have toiletries. I'd definitely consider using this place every time I come to Seoul. The only downfall is not having a window for fresh air in the dorm room but if that doesn't...

I stayed at mori for 18 days with my sister in a 6shared dormitory on May 2015. It was our first time in korea and in a guesthouse sharing the rooms and bathroom with people we didnt know, and it was amazing. First of all the room is the same as you see in picture, the curtains really helps for...

The rooms were clean except sometimes i could see some rubbish in the gap between the wall and my bed. there were curtains for each bed so i could sleep well at night :) it was also quiet at night! one thing to point out is that there were no windows in...

This is my first time stayed in Mori and I got recommendation from my friend. I went there with my other 4 friends last April. The guest house is quite big and clean. It's comfortable and worth the price. Both owner Ji Ae and James are friendly and very helpful. They both speak English fluently, so it's easier for us...

It was such a pleasant stay in Mori. I especially liked it that there was no curfew and we could even stay in the lounge until 2am. Although it was a bit pricey for two people but it was worth it I guess because the place is kept clean everyday and the guesthouse owners are really nice and friendly. Thank...

It may be my first time staying at Mori but I know for sure that I will be back. A simple and cosy place to stay, with helpful and sweet staff that makes it feel like home. Location is great, with food, marts, convenience stores and the subway station within walking distance. For the price you pay, it is definitely...

Mori Guesthouse is a lovely place to stay. The staff are very welcoming, accommodating and willing to help you with anything. The location is also very accessible. From Gwangheungchang subway station, it only takes a 5 minute walk. The interior of the guesthouse is so lovely and homey!!! You almost felt like a local living in Seoul. Even though our...

Staying in Hongdae

Neighbourhood Profile
Hongdae
Carefree enthusiasm is everywhere in this energetic neighborhood centered on Hongik University, Korea’s top art school. From its assortment of murals to the occasional amateur street performances, creativity and expression make up the wild and beating heart of vibrant Hongdae. At the Free and Hope Market (weekends at the Hongdae Children’s Playground) you'll find one of Seoul’s most popular handmade and creative markets drawing consistent crowds. At Hongdae, there’s never a shortage of things to do and see; food and drink options are nearly endless as are shops and noraebang (karaoke) rooms. Hongdae is also one of Seoul’s top party and club scenes catering to a younger demographic; if a packed club isn’t your scene, you'll also find a range of music venues and bars offering live music in all genres. Although Hongdae has lost much of its unique appeal and undergone rapid commercialization in recent years, be sure to explore Hongdae’s edges in areas such as Sangsu-dong and Yeonnam-dong where Hongdae’s fiercely independent streak still runs freely.
