The Friday buffet at the Terrace, located inside the Baron Hotel, is something very special.

I am not usually fond of buffets, but this is the one buffet you need to try in Cairo. Running from 12pm to 4pm on Fridays, the food here is something to behold. This is not your typical trendy place that all the kids like to be seen at and where the food is tasteless. This is the real deal.

The food is prepared as if it were made at home — it’s what Egyptian food used to be like. It is prepared by old-school chefs (like Chef Ahmed and Chef ِAbdel Hamed) who take pride in their work.

The setting is civilized, the service respectful and efficient, and there is even a wonderful band playing classic Egyptian pop tunes from the past.

All in all, the meal will set you back approximately LE 400 with tax and service, but it’s worth every piaster (that’s an Egyptian penny, a coin that has disappeared with the advent of the devalued Egyptian Pound).

Hi there, and being your friends. You can thank me here later.

The absolute worst of Egypt.
No Air conditioning, switched rooms, was told sorry you can open window (which has no screens)

Major up charge for Americans to a criminal level, saw American passports despite two of three being resident Egyptians and staff at front desk added hundreds more over hotel.com price when we booked.

Safety locks on doors have been tampered/were cut off, would not recommend for women. See photo.

Many better places to stay that will treat resident Egyptians fairly and won’t criminally up charge Americans to this level.

Stayed here for a week! I was looking for a quiet place for the end of my Cairo trip and it was lovely - the accommodations, breakfast buffet, the staff - overall wonderful people.

Emad Khatab the restaurant manager is very kind and helpful! The first day I had breakfast I came after the breakfast buffet was over and he offered to make an omelette and brought along with it a bread and cheese spread. The chefs and Ibrahim the waiter are also very attentive and kind.

The reception desk, bell man, cleaners, and security are all very professional.

Pleasant and safe place as a female solo traveler!

Worst Hotel ever Visited based on room rates & overall rate for this hotel & rooms is absolutely terrible. (1/10)

I've taken a suite with a rate of $150 per night, with no amenities in the room , no shower gel (they don't even know what's that they keep bringing conditioner!!!) AC Heat is not working with city temperature @ night 8° we slept like frozen bodies!!

Every time we call The room service, house keeping & reception it takes forever to answer and secondly if they answers our requirements needs around 30mins - 1hr to fulfil, for example I've asked for water bottle , it tooks them 30mins to bring it to my room.
We asked for dental kit many times in the 1st day and there's no response until the next morning so we ordered the kits from Talabat "app" and when the app driver arrives they didn't allow him to enter & asks me to get down & take my stuff.

Room is not clean, Safe box not working, windows not sealed properly as we were sleeping outdoors.

I don't recommend this Hotel at all and I ask to downgrade it to one star 🌟 hostel at least or a residence apartment

We stayed here for one night as we had a late flight and early train but it was absolutely terrible. The room had not really been cleaned the bath was grimy, there was wet dirty tissues next to the toilet, the sofa was stained but worst of all the bed had pieces of dirt & hair in it. It was disgusting. Our flights were delayed so by this point it was 2am & we had to move rooms from 114 to 714. we complained and were given a new room, but At no point did anyone apologise or offer us compensation. On top of that the receptionist said we could have a free breakfast but then she made us pay for it because the manager wasn’t there. We asked to speak with the manager and waited for an hour from 9-10 and they still didn’t turn up and we didn’t want to waste more time on our holiday. We ended up paying for the room and breakfast which we feel is not justified given all the problems we had with this hotel. The receptionist then assured us the manager would call to discuss a refund of at least the service charge but it is now 2 days later and we have not heard anything from them.

Great location, nice hotel over all with spacious rooms. Breakfast was nice with a lot of options, as a vegan though it is not worth the 10$. Some small things to pick on regarding the housekeeping - please don't come every morning at 8:20, one room had no cups only glasses, other room only cups, one room didn't have any toilet paper.
Staff were generally great and helpful but since it was very cold outside and inside I requested a heater, some staff dismissed it for multiple days but one day there were very lovely ladies working who were able to get a heater for me.

The Baron hotel was a very nice hotel. Very clean, organized, and well ran. All of the customer service representatives were all professional, knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. My mother and I especially appreciated the assistance from the room cleaning service from both Amal Abdel-All and Mona Eisa. They were very nice, professional, and were very courteous. They always asked if we were in need of anything and got whatever we asked for, they cleaned and prepared the room perfectly. They were both excellent. Shukran gidan, ya Amal wa Mona!

At the beginning there is one small elevator now carrying only 3 persons and has a very long line .. the second one is not working. We used the stairs alot.

Then .. when we entered our room we found another person inside it !!!!!!!! They changed our room immediately with another one (419) .. dont take room 419 .. the safe is not working .. the shattafa of the toilet is working very very bad .. the view of the room literally faces a wall, but you can see baron palace from a very narrow angle. We asked the reception for anyone who can fix the safe but noone came until i cancelled it to go a trip.

At breakfast, we faced a lot of problems at 9:30 AM .. we barely can find a cup for juice or water .. the refill of food was too slow .. At last when we asked the waiter for a french coffe ( coffe with milk ), he only served us a black coffee and said that there is no enough milk and he will bring it as soon as possible. We wait more than twenty minutes and he did not come back.

We will not come back again

Hi Peter I was on a holiday in Egypt coming from Australia. I stayed at the Baron for 5 nights and couldn't any more. I was paying L.E. 900/night. I moved to Le Merdian which is a 5 star hotel 5-10 minutes away for L.E. 1000/night. A no comparison stay and cleanness. The Baron offered me airport shuttle just because I am a duel national, Egyptian/Australian. They do not offer this service to Egyptians. Le Merdian has a free airport shuttle every hour regardless of the nationality. Hope this is helpful. Regards Raafat
