My husband and I spent 2 nights at this hotel during our final leg of our trip (it was technically 1-1/2 nights as we had a early morning flight and paid an extra night to stay until 11:00PM).

We were part of a tour, so I cannot comment on the check-in process as our key was provided to us when we arrived. However, service was very prompt, professional and excellent. We had to talk to the front desk a few times to ask questions and a bellman in the lobby was very prompt and quick to make sure we were being assisted as quickly as possible. The concierge was also very helpful in organizing a car service to drop us off at the airport upon departure. For $15USD, I highly recommend using this service.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. Pictures on the website felt accurate. In terms of noise level, it is much quieter compared to hotels along the Nile. I appreciated the complimentary water bottles that were replenished daily. We didn't explore much of the hotel, aside from eating breakfast at the main dining area on the ground floor. There is a wide assortment of Western and local dishes to choose from. It is a hit/miss, depending on what you choose, but for the most part food was good.

The downside of the area is not being close to the sightseeing locations. Distance-wise, it's not far, but once you factor in the traffic, it is easily 40 minutes to 1 hour (depending where you want to go) to the tourist sightseeing locations, making this hotel not ideal.

This hotel is perfect if you are done with all the sightseeing and just want to stay within hotel proximity. Having the giant Citystars mall connected to the hotel was perfect as we didn't have to walk outside the chaotic streets of Cairo for food. There are a ton of restaurant choices in the mall to fit all cuisines and budget. We also appreciated that the hotel was pretty close to the airport (about 15 minutes drive). Compared to the area closer to the Nile, I felt this area was much newer and safer and quieter. I would recommend staying here if you need a clean, comfortable hotel that is near a lot of restaurants and close to the airport.

We were meant to travel on to Jordan but the border was closed. Our tour guide organised rooms at this large hotel for us to rest our weary bones after being stranded by a sandstorm and then leaving Abu Simbel at 4:00am to drive for 4 hours through the Nubian desert to get back to our boat to pack our belongings. Great shopping centre next door.

I absolutely loved my stay at Intercontinental City Stars! I especially loved its close proximity to the City Stars mall meaning I got lots of shopping done and especially the great brands. I also liked that the housekeeping would only visit my room at my request in line with the hotel’s Covid-19 safety protocols. The hotel has a gym and that was a plus, meaning that I got to continue my workout routine. We were always greeted cordially when we arrived at the hotel’s restaurant for breakfast & the array of meals was excellent. I miss the daily serving of pomegranate, sushi & smoked salmon. I realized that I forgot my toothbrush & toothpaste at home but voila! The hotel sent a dental kit up to my room and saved the day. I honestly have no complaints. Service was superb throughout my stay. I will certainly stay here during my next visit!

I was expected that all glass cups should be washed in the washing machine for hygiene
,however, this does not happened and it was washed by hand at the main restaurant during breakfast. No rules, everyone in the reception answer different answers for the same question, regarding the hotel facilities.
The portion at Elkhal restaurant is too small compared to the price and its managers were not helpful and were very rude, especially when we get a problem with the check, even when I asked to escalate my issue to a manager, he did not try to help, standing by there side, his name is Bassem Khaled.
Bad experience, stuff were rude and not helpful, even the managers, they did not show any effort to solve.
I do not recommend this hotel, you can spend less amount in a better hotel and better stuff to enjoy your stay.

We came to spend the weekend at the hotel to have fun, but its not fun.
But its not fun at all.

First. We checked in 18 june. In the first hour. We have tried to swim at the pool and they have said not at the moment as they are cleaning it at 12:40 pm so we had to swim at the side pools or the place where the kids play.
Then they opened the adults part. So we tried to have fun by a pool float. They said its not allowed.
Then the big guy from the life guards came to us while we are sitting or tring to chill out on the side pool, using our small JBL flip 5 speaker and the volume was low that you can hear it 50-60 cm around the speaker, telling us its not allowed.
As there was no one around us to hear the music or to complain.
So i turned it off and i was thinking to leave the hotel.
I was annoyed and board of this type of rules, then after 2 hours we found the same guy with an arab group trading them very good and they are playing music laud that i can hear it from the other side of the pool. And he did not even ask them to turn it off.

I have been working for tourism for 15 years.
And i was living in hotels for 20 years.
This is the most racist place i have been.

I won't recommend this place to any one
My room is 114

Note
The gest relations are good
Pool bar is good
Room is good

Life guard guy is racist.

The hotel is nice and clean.
The lobby is big and beautifully arranged. All staff that we met are very friendly.
The breakfast is excellent , I really enjoyed it There are many varieties of food for breakfast that suit visitors from any nationality with fresh juices. The view in the morning is relaxing in the fresh air

The rooms are clean and the daily cleaning and top up of linen and tea is excellent.

The laundry service was great and timely with options of 1 to 3 hours.

There is a respectful and talented tailor who shortened my trouser in a couple of hours.

It is very close, within 2 min to a big mall where you can find anything you need.

As a summary, it is the best choice for business or leisure purposes. Highly recommended.

Mervat

Stayed 1 night in Intercontinental Cairo Citystars. Be sure to request a Non-Smoking floor if you don't smoke.

Pros:near airport, connected to one of the largest malls (9 floors) in Cairo, room was nice with comfortable bed.

Cons: People smoking in hotel lobby, average food quality in buffet restaurant, from 14th floor could hear outside noise from traffic.

Again I stayed in the Intercontinental hotel city stars maybe for the 15th time over the last 10-12 years !!it gets only better , I really love this hotel and can’t fault anything there starting from the swift check in by Mohamed in the IHG club member reception desk ,with appropriate acknowledgment of our platinum ambassador status , room was great , good size and immaculately clean , thanks to the housekeeping team , breakfast is one of the best I have experienced, great selection of food to please all tastes from all four orders of the world , with a very high quality food and nice presentation, the staff at the restaurant are very attentive to our needs ,great service and I want to mention Khalid who was really polite and very efficient . Swimming pool wether the indoor jacozi or outdoors one were great and well heated .
We tried the Egyptian restaurants Al Khal and the food was amazing and really authentic so we went twice !!
This hotel is keeping its standard throughout the years , and the fact that is close to the airport ( 10minutes ) and being attached to one of Cairo’s big shopping malls is always an added benefit
Finally, I would like to thank everyone and all the staff for a lovely enjoyable stay
And definitely will be coming again and again
