Egypt - A country with many faces and a great hospitality. We stayed in Cairo for three nights before heading to Assuan, Luxor and Makadi Bay. Booking the New Palace Hotel was a really good choice for us. Dr. Ahmed and his people around him are wonderfull! He helped us booking our roundtrip for a really good price. The hoteliers,...

This hostel is the dirtiest place I have ever been to. They gave us a room with four beds. The sheets were not clean and there were even blood stains in one of them. You can find plently of dead mosquitoes on the walls and since it seems they never clean the dust of the room. Im not even allergic...

Dr Ahmed is a very honest and helpful man. There is no need to pay for a tour before coming to Egypt - he can organise it all for you and at a reasonable price and he is willing offer prices that are cheaper than the Australian/US/UK tour companies. Being a solo female traveller, he looked after me well, helped...

My stay at New Palace Hotel was absolutely phenomenal. Immediately after being picked up from the airport I was taken to the owners office where I was given lunch and tea, and had a chat about safety during my stay as well as how to go about transportation and the things I wished to do while I was there. The...

Had a very special time there, since it was close to the Nile and the Museum (the subway also!). The owner is a very nice person, and so is the staff there. The reception is so cool! 😊 Cairo can be so crazy, but definitely so unforgettable.

I love dodgy little joints like this. Ones that make you feel like you're in a movie. Full of character. It's in a prime location, just north of downtown. The staff were unobtrusive, the decor dated and to my taste. A fantastic place to stay on an epic journey to one of the most epic of places.

As long as you come here not expecting The Ritz (or anything close to it), you can set your expectations accordingly. I had planned to stay for one night and ended up staying for five. Ahmed (the owner) is a top man and speaks good English. He gave me useful tips and tricks to navigate around the city. The location...

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel when we were in Cairo back in Feb 2015. Like many other hotels in the downtown Cairo, you will have to take a lift upstair for the hotel and it is conveniently located in the central with number of Koshari shops around within 200m of reach. One thing that is special about...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The open air roof garden is only one of the attractive features of this budget hotel. It's a legend among budget travelers and is still one of the cheapest places available in Cairo. The nice roof garden is divided into different parts. Every part resembles different culture of Egyptian life. The restaurant, open 24 hours, has an oriental sitting area, a water fountain and a billiard table free for the guests. ... more   less
