Bet El Kerem is located on the west bank of the nile, across from the city of Aswan. It is easy walking distance from the train station, however you must take a short ferry ride. You will probably spend most of your time on the roof top patio chatting with Abdule or the other staff. The view is spectacular in... More

The place is really chilling and well maintained. Everything works (hot shower, AC and etc). As for WiFi, you may need to ask Abdullah the owner of the place. They have a very good friendly hospitable operation team and you will feel like home. The price is quite high for a guesthouse and for dinner too. But dinner is AMAZING.... More

This place may be a bit harder to find and get to at first (although once you know the way it is easy and very nice) but it is well worth the effort. The owner/hosts are awesome and extremely accomodating. The food is great and the accomadations very clean and nice if simple. Most importantly you will be right in... More

Bet el Kerem is the ideal place for those visiting Aswan and are looking for a peaceful and serene place to stay. The view of the tombs nearby from the rooftop during the evenings is very pretty indeed. The hosts at the guesthouse were ever ready to do everything in their power to make sure we felt at home. I was welcomed by the owner in person and offered refreshments. The rooms were neat and tidy and there was a terrace where one had a view of the town of Aswan as well as into the vast desert and historic structures atop the hill nearby. There was only 2 of us in the hostel and hence the owner invited... More

I spent 3 nights at this guesthouse and I had a wonderful time. The room was clean and comfortable, the food ( breakfast and dinner) was delicious. The proprietor, Abdullah, and his staff do everything possible to make your stay an enjoyable one. Abdullah aranged airport transfers, trips to the High Dam, Philae Temple and Abu Simbel for us -... I made a booking via a reputable website for Bet El Kerem for November 2015, but upon arrival the rooms provided were not as described on the listing. When trying to resolve this (thinking there had been a misunderstanding), the hotel owner behaved completely unacceptably, telling me that if I didn't like it I should leave - despite the fact... This is not the Ritz Carlton but I've experienced the best hospitality I can remember in a very authentic Nubian atmosphere. The rooms were clean and the roof terasse was cozy with a fantastic view. On the last evening we were invited for a great dinner.

Reasonably clean hotel. En-suite room included shower with curtain so shared toilet. Tiny hand towels provided. Lighting in room was poor. Mosquito net above bed was too small to use; a plug-in repellent was provided. Wi-Fi on terrace only (unreliable). Breakfast was satisfactory. Location of hotel on West Bank made it difficult to carry bags to & from the ferry... More

Aswan is the base of the historic Kush people who can boast a successful and pretty hot Pharaoh ( Nubian Museum is a must see).
