And, as others have said, Aswan is expensive by Egyptian standards, and so this is a cheap hotel. If you bear that in mind, you won't be disappointed. Our room was clean, but basic - no view, as we'd asked for a quiet one. However, there's a good view from the roof terrace, where they serve a very acceptable breakfast....

The Kelany hotel is located very centrally, not far from the rail station. It is spotlessly clean, good wireless in public areas. Right now there are not than many independent trekkers in Egypt, But Mr. Abdeen at the Kelany went out of his way to put together groups to get to Abu Simbel and Philae Island, and then found me...

The Keylaney hotel is an old, run down hotel, with the title hostel being more accurate to describe what you can expect than hotel. The sheets were full of stains and not fresh, the pillow cover did not actually cover all of the pillow, and the shower has a stained curtain all around. Oh, and when you arrive in the...

Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel so that I can make the Abu Simble trip. The hotel is very close to the Corniche street (although in a non-touristy side street). The receptionist was very kind to let me change into a bigger room (sleeps 3) when I found my single occupancy room as a smoking one with some ants...

Not sure why hotels in Aswan are so expensive, and this one for what you get, is no exception. Compared to Luxor, where 200LE will get you a very nice room with breakfast, expect to pay double in Aswan. The location and staff are nice. Breakfast is served at 8.30am which is late, and meant that I was waiting for...

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Abu Simbel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. This is honestly one of the only places we stayed in Egypt where you could describe the staff as professional. The room and attached bathroom were clean and everything worked as it should. The room was also serviced daily which was a rarity...

There was a guy named Ahmed, he was very rude to us.Asked him for a glass to take medicine, he gave me a glass kept on counter...

Really friendly staff made this hotel a pleasure to stay in (Abdeen, Sadlalah, and all the cleaning staff!). Rooms and bathrooms are spotless, mozzy nets on all the windows, lovely soft beds and great central location. Breakfast is also great and the roof top terrace is a nice get away. Wifi only in reception but thats a good thing in...
