Hotel Sheherazade is ideally located far from crowds & noise, an oasis of calm in a green & shady garden. The building, in the style of Hassan Fathy, reflects the designs evoked in The Book of a Thousand and One Nights, Sheherazade being the name of the beautiful storyteller. As well as local tours, balloon trips etc., the hotel is pleased to offer desert safaris and Nile cruises. After a heavy day sightseeing, laze by the pool or watch the glorious sunsets from the roof top terrace.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent 4 days at this hotel on the west site of the Nile (well placed for visits to the various valleys - King, Queen etc...), a friendly family- establishment with swimming-pools. Thank you for your help and for your recommendations for trips. See you again 😉.

It says free car parking. But could not get anywhere near hotel and was advised not to leave car in street. We looked at the very poor state nothing like pictures very run down, looking very poor conditions and not that clean we all decided that we would not stay here even after a 9 hr drive from Cairo and found lovely hotel just up the road Dreams Island

This was a great home base for exploring the Luxor region! Staff was attentive and friendly, rooms were clean and homey, the pool was a great place to relax, and dinner was amazing! We had breakfast here every morning and it always hit the spot & we also availed ourselves of the massage service which really recharged us for the rest of the vacation.

You can’t trust the positive reviews. No WiFi. Manager said ‘we’re a budget hotel’ - I was constantly picking up signal from 2 neighbour budget hotels! Very poor rooms - I have a list including blood on a shower curtain. Manager hassles you for tours and will hussle you even after you return tired after a long day - shady as they come. Breakfast was skipped save instant coffee. Do not book.

This is a quaint hotel in a quiet part of town. The service is superb and the food was really good. We specially appreciated the attentive staff like Mr Rafael and Mr Nubi who always go above and beyond in making you feel at home. The location is also a short walk from the public ferry

Centrally located. On West Bank. Close to inexpensive local restaurants. Near Valley of Kings and other archaeological sites. 2 minutes to ferry to East Bank to visit Luxor Museum and Karnak temple. Nice pool. Substantial breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. A very pleasant stay.

Horrible place, their advertisements are false. Don’t go there!!. Looked dark & dirty. No TV or heat in the rooms. Lied about shuttle service, manager was shifty, the other staff were very nice. The pool has paint flakeing off, there was a huge garbage dump in back. The lobby was dark & looked dirty. They pretended the credit card machine wasn’t working kept insisting on cash. They advertised they had the Nile view-a lie. Located in a dirty back alley. It was not anything At all like portrayed in the pictures! The breakfast they offered was nothing you expect, no meat, only hard boiled eggs & beans. Only instant coffee, all in all a terrible experience. We left after only 2 hours.

The room/beds/bathroom are what we've come to accept as mid-range in Egypt - meets your needs, no frills. What sets this hotel apart, however, is its environment - after passing through the beautiful domed-ceilinged reception area, we walked out into an expansive, long courtyard, lush with flowering bougainvillea, secret nooks with seating areas and a nicely-sized pool near the restaurant. It's peaceful and very quiet (the calls to prayer weren't even too loud here!) and our room overlooked this area and, in the distance, the Nile and across to the East Bank - the (50 LE) ferries for which are about a 7 minute walk away. When our family of 4 arrived, I was terribly ill with food poisoning from an overnight felucca trip, and the staff was incredible - giving me space, but still checking on me and offering food and help when my family was out touring. They piled extra blankets on me when I mentioned I had chills, sent up rice when I first began to eat again, and showed genuine concern throughout the 3 day stay. As others have mentioned, it's a 3 floor, exterior-entry hotel with no elevators, so bear that in mind.

Come join the ladies for Thursday morning 10-11am Salsacise exercise dance classes! I join every week and it is so much fun :) In the peaceful West Bank, minutes walk from the Nile River and centrally located. This is a large hotel that can accommodate large groups. Visit the famous Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple during the day, or go out on a sunrise hot air balloon ride, or horse riding, and relax and enjoy yourself with a drink by the pool side in the afternoon, then visit the variety of fun outdoor hotel-restaurants that are located very nearby, giving you variety of delicious Egypt-style food.
