Favorite hotel in Egypt! Stay here for real Egyptian hospitality at a family run place- we were treated royally, upgraded to a Nile view room for free, and were even invited into Kareem's home for a visit. (Kareem, the co-owner, is really awesome BTW, we had so much fun chatting with him. The cook is awesome, too). The pool is... More

A excellent value for money choice. Spectacular Nile view (opposite Luxor Temple), good rooms and a friendly & helpful staff. A nice rooftop restaurant, swimming pool. A Few meters walking distance from ferry. My 3rd stay here, hardly recommended !!! I will come back again, Luxor first choice.

Have stayed at some of the bigger hotels on the East Bank, but decided to try this Little budget hotel, just a small walk from the ferry on the West Bank. The room I had had a lovely view overlooking the Nile with a good sized balcony. Have to say the air conditioning was superb and kept me nice and... More

Stayed two weeks in November and can only emphasize, as with other reviews, just how friendly and helpful all the staff are. Yes, you will hear the Muezzens calling at 5.am but if staying on the East Bank you will suffer this AND more traffic noise than here. Also reduced amount of "hassle" than with the prolific East Bank "touts".... More

This summer I stayed at El Mesala for a few nights. I chose the hotel in part because of its location and the convenience of a restaurant at the hotel. It turned out to be a great location with a great view of the Nile, especially from the rooftop restaurant. Moreover, the staff were very hospitable. Unfortunately, one of the... More

We have been traveling for four months and have stayed in many places. El Mesala was above and beyond our best experience in Egypt, and possibly throughout our travels. The staff are wonderful, the food in the restaurant is the best we had in Egypt, and the view of Luxor temple and the Nile can't be beat. We felt so... More

Read the other reviews of this hotel and just want to echo all the positives that have previously been written. We had an excellent stay here, Karim the part owner was very helpful, and keen to give us a good experience without being pushy. He wants to provide the best he can for his guests and succeeded for us all.... More

After staying in crazy Cairo for a few days, Luxor was a heavenly paradise, and the El Mesala Hotel was wonderful. The hotel itself is lovely to look at - brightly painted with different Egyptian-themed images, a pool out front, and a great view of the Nile. Its location (the West Bank) made sure that we were away from the... More

The hotel has a spectacular location, great rooms and service. Although on the West Bank, all the main needs are east bank, it is an easy ferry ride across the Nile. We ate dinner at their rooftop restaurant and the food was delicious. But you can't be in a hurray. BEWARE: the one thing that would cause me to not... More
