To add the appropriate gravitas to this review I have to firstly state that Luxor (its people, culture, history, atmosphere and beauty) have been a passion for all my life and I've been going for 25 years but I intend to be objecive.
In that time I have sought perfection and in the Djorff Palace i have found it. Having stayed everywhere (literally) in Luxor this is something very special. This hotel is, without question, the place to stay.
A wonderfully beautiful place both architecturally and in location; your breath will be taken away on arrival! Every detail is a feast for the eyes and the senses Every room, every aspect has been thoughtfully appointed and decorated and is a true feast of opulence, elegance, luxury and convenience; a faultless blend of classicism and modernity!
Were that not enough there is a service and sense of pride from every member of the staff that is so very rare anywhere in the world. The feeling of welcome and a true 5 star feeling is built into every joint and seam of this wonderful hotel.
Food is simply second to none; a blend of cultural cuisine that I was actually astounded by and i will therefore say no more.
Service is, in fact, second to none! From morning coffee delivered to your room to a stunning evening meal, to pool-side service to my most memorable Nile-side breakfast in almost three decades.
This is a hotel I could spend many hours reviewing but I won't simply because all that needs to be said is that Djorff Palace is the last word in Luxor hotel perfection.
Mohamed, Amir, Hamdy and everyone (some names I forget for which I apologise) at the Djorff palace are a credit to themselves, a credit to the hospitality industry, a credit to Luxor and a credit to Egypt!
Bravo Djorff Palace, Bravo! Perfection.... absolute perfection!

I do not often write reviews if I am only staying somewhere for one night.....but WOW what a find.
I got a last minute deal and this place is just amazing. The attention to detail in all respects was commendable and the staff were truly friendly and couldn’t do enough for you.
I only stayed in a single room but had I known , for just a few pounds more I could have had an even better room than the one I stayed in.
The food was of a very good standard and very reasonably priced in my view and I was really happy with the breakfast. They have a buffet with the usual meats, cheese and salad and the you can order your main breakfast which is cooked to order. Although it wasn’t on the menu the chef made me Eggs Benedict - always my favorite when I stay in a hotel.
Highly recommended.

This hotel, built by its owners to their own design, is an oasis of calm and tranquility in a busy tourist area. The rooms are beautiful and resemble an Egyptian medieval palace. The rooms all have a shaded balcony area with a view of the Nile. The room was immaculate. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. Breakfast is simple and served outdoors so you have a view of the Nile and the activities upon it. The restaurant changes its menu each day and serves high quality, fresh food suitable for all dietary requirements. No alcohol is served but you can provide your own. There is a free boat which takes you across to the East Bank. We had the privilege of meeting the lady of the hotel who was warm, welcoming and very entertaining. She also prevented us from spending money that we did not need to on things, The hotel organised all transfers and a wonderful romantic boat trip for us and very reasonable rates. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

What an amazing stay we had at the Djorff Palace! Taking their private ferry from the East Bank the Djorff Palace rises out of the West Bank of the Nile like a Pashas Palace. We were met by the elegant Mohammed and then shown to our beautiful room by the fascinating and slightly Basil Fawltyesque Marina. Our room, the Opal, was beautifully decorated in mother of pearl furniture and accessories and the large bathroom was sheathed in red granite. We had a large deck but tended to hang by the pool and the outdoor eating area and chat with Marina about her exotic life in Africa. Breakfast and all the meals were excellent and the staff is top notch. It was the most interesting and unique property that we stayed at in all of Egypt(which included the Winter Palace and the Old Cataract Hotel) and can’t recommend it highly enough. Get there before all the Influencers discover it and it will be out of reach to us mere travelers!

The hotel’s architecture is very beautiful and the location on the west side is very peaceful, yet easily reachable from the east bank with the free shuttle boat.
The owner has carefully picked the furniture and it looks great. However, the bed is extremely hard, even for people who usually like hard beds. We woke up with the whole body hurting every morning. The windows are made of beautiful stained windows, but there are no curtains so you wake up with the sun.
No alcohol is served, you have to buy it on the east bank. Breakfast is very disappointing compared to the price of the room.
The owner spends most of her day smocking cigarettes at the restaurant, screaming at her staff. She will sit with you during breakfast/dinner and tell stories about her trips or complain about other guests or staff. Some people love it, others don’t.

Djorff Palace is a fabulous boutique hotel that really makes you feel like Egyptian royalty. Traditional architecture with antique furniture with a great location on the peaceful west side of the Nile. The staff and owner Dr. Marina are very friendly and accommodating. We were luck to find a discounted price because the value is incredibly high. Just to be way from the hustle and bustle on the bank of the Nile looking out over rice paddies at their pleasant poolside restaurant was a great experience in itself.

This small boutique hotel has 18 rooms and is exquisitely designed to make you feel like you’re having an Egyptian experience. It has pretty much all amenities, including swimming, pool, and two on-site restaurants (indoor and by the pool). The staff was exceptionally competent and friendly.

It is on the West Bank, so it is a little remote and located within farm fields. They do provide a boat service for free to take you across the Nile River to the main city of Luxor. For a few dollars, the boat will take you to Luxor Temple and drop you off. They will arrange for a car to pick you up at the airport (and take you back) which is very helpful since Uber is not available in Luxor, and haggling with a taxi driver is a horrible experience. They also arranged for an educated private guide, with car and driver, to take me to the Valley of the Kings and other West Bank sites.

The owner, Marina, met me at check in we sat and she gave me any information about Luxor that I wanted.

All in all, it was a great experience and I would love to return.

This hotel is on the less busy west side of the Nile. They have a free boat shuttle to bring you from town. The exterior from the Nile side is stunning, like a palace. Next door was a farm with water buffalo grazing. It was really cool to sit outside and just relax by the Nile. The staff were fantastic, super friendly and helpful and trying to make everyone feel taken care of. We only had breakfast and it was delicious. This place has a ton of character and charm and could be amazing with some TLC done to the rooms. We had two rooms, One was a small room facing the street up by the office. There rooms have theme names, I forget what it was called but I think it was the pink stone. Because it faced the street is was very noisy so my wife and daughter didn't sleep well all night. WIFI and the AC didn't work despite trying to adjust the settings so the room was stuffy and hot until the night cooled things off. They had a newer prefab shower but it was a very small corner unit. My son and I had one of the Africa themed rooms down by the river. These are the best with a big deck area in the front. It was also much larger than my wife's room. WIFI for our room wouldn't work in the room but you could use it if you were sitting outside which is odd as the AP was inside by the front door. Our AC didn't work either, it never cooled the room but thankfully the nights were cool so that helped. We had a barking dog at the neighbor property that barked constantly until midnight. After that it was very quiet except the gecko living in the roof who kept popping out to only make what I can describe as monkey-like noises. This made me notice there were gaps in the ceiling that it was coming in which made me wonder what other critters might visit in the night (only mosquitos). The shower was an other tub unit with A LOT of mold around the edge and our toilet seat was broken and just resting on top but not actually connected. Since we were paying 5 star prices we decided to call it and left a day early, losing money on the second night but having a much better stay elsewhere.

The hotel is exceptionally beautiful with real antique furniture which gives it an authentic middle eastern feel. The air conditioning worked well and the free boat taxi to the hotel was wonderful.
The lovely owner allowed us to have late check out free of charge and helped organise a car to the tourist attractions, which was super easy and affordable.

- our balcony was definitely the highlight!

The free breakfast and restaurant in the evening also served great food.

All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers and I believe it’s worth every penny!

The best thing is that you chilled out after Cairo and before going back there for your last night. Enjoy it and go to Zamalek where it is quieter. That balcony in your room here is amazing isn't it. Apart from the view down the Nile you can see into the village and all over the hotel. Loved your very short stay with us. Nice pictures; thanks. Come back please

My wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Djorff Palace. Absolutely perfect after 2 nights in Geza. Located on the West Bank of the Nile across from the river from Luxor. Our room was beautiful, a good size and spotlessly clean. We were in Room Mara so close to the swimming pool with views across the Nile. The hotel has an excellent restaurant with a new daily menu and we enjoyed a light lunch twice and also dinner a couple of nights. The hotel location is excellent to visit the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hutshepsut as only a short drive away. The hotel also organised a brilliant morning early balloon flight for us which again the take off field is not far away. A must to do as you get great views of the Nile valley and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Visiting the east bank and Luxor is easy as the hotel has a courtesy boat from in front of the hotel to the city or to Luxor Temple. From either drop of point a taxi is very cheap to Karnak or the Luxor museum. The staff were so friendly and helpful and can advise or arrange any tour you might wish to do. We cannot recommend the hotel more highly, should I ever return to Luxor would not consider anywhere else to stay.
