On the banks of the Nile Hotel Al Baeirat is situated within a banana plantation. Like a little village it blends into the neighbourhood and is built of country-specific architecture with domed structure which is traditionally made of clay. Off the beaten track you can enjoy the silence and the egyptian style in a private and friendly atmosphere. For relaxation we are offering the whole family a wonderful swimming pool directly on the banks of the Nile. From our patio which is overlooking the Nile we are serving egyptian titbits. While sipping your coffee or drinking a cool beer you can let your eyes wander to the town of Luxor on the opposite shore and at night watch the bright lights of the incoming cruise liners. In the neighbourhood you will find numerous temple complexes, the Valley of the Kings and many more sights.

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Ideally situated on the West Bank for many tourist attractions and temples etc. The rooms have a unique design and are secluded. The hotel also offers a free boat transfer across the river to the east bank when needed. The owner/manager was so helpful and spoke perfect English. The pool overlooks the Nile and the restaurant serves good quality food. Overall, a great hotel we would use again when returning to Luxor.

Absolutely the best find in Luxor, a lovely hidden gem. Away from the bustle of the city on the West side easily access to the Valley of the Kings and Queens. Only a short boat trip across the Nile for he Temples. Lovely cottage rooms with plenty of space and quiet. Felt surreal having a swim in the pool overlooking the Nile. Had a lovely sunset cruise free of charge from the hotel. Food was great too and highly recommend the curry. Only wished stayed longer.

We had a great stay for 4 days at the hotel. It is on a human scale with staff always available and pleasant. The rooms are large and clean. We enjoyed the swimming pool and meals at the hotel restaurant. The only negative point is the price of the excursions but it is compensated by the price of the rooms and meals. We will definitely return to this hotel if we return to Luxor.

We spent 3 nights in this amazing place as part of our family trip. The little bungalows are beautiful and spacious, beds good quality and bathroom nice and clean. The staff was amazing. We arrived in the middle of a sand storm. They instantly prepared a lovely meal for us in a private room so we didn't have to go out. The hotel's ferry was free and constantly available for visiting Luxor on the other bank. The owner and his staff did their utmost to make our stay a memorable one.

Cute little hotel on the West Bank, perfect if you want to see how the locals live away from the city. We went in July for 1 night and were the only guest there. We got a “family bungalow” which is 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms in a cottage, very roomy! The decor is spartan but nice and it’s all very clean. the A/C is very cold and so are the mini-fridges.Tthey sell beer for only LE40. Coffee is horrible, they should invest in a real coffee machine and real coffee - even and American drip one would be good. I’d happily pay extra for that. Breakfast is pretty simple and it would be nice to get some fresh fruit as well. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the part of the village with shops and restaurants, and it’s easy to find transportation. The pool is nice but will need to be updated soon, it is lined with plastic, not tile and it’s coming off in places. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. There is a mama dog with 4 puppies on the properties, she is an awesome dog, sweet and loving to everyone. I hope they take god care of her...she is missing patches of hair and seems hungry a lot (I gave her all my breakfast :) )

We stayed there for four nights and it was very dificult to leave. The room was confortble, it’s a unique decoration with a private and cute garden. The food is local, homemade and simply delicious, with fair prices. They have a super nice pool overlooking the Nile👌🏽 I super recommend for everyone!

The whole staff of Al Baeirat hotel was so amazing with us that it was hard to say good bye! Our room was super clean and cozy and they every day were doing so funny sculptures with the towels, hehe. Made us laugh! The restaurant and swimming is perfectly positioned to overlook the nile and the food was delicious with a great price. We can totally recommend!

My family and I spent three nights here and I can't speak highly enough of the hotel and it's staff. The owner, Mahmoud, spent 20 year's in Germany and it's this insight into knowing what tourists really want and need which sets it apart. It's not luxury, but it is absolutely charming. The bungalow style accommodation meant our kids had their own space and room yet felt safe with interconnecting door. We could use the washing machine, took a free sunset cruise down the Nile with my 13 year old son steering! At night, fires are lit to sit next to whilst eating delicious food cooked in clay pots. Each morning, the cleaning staff left comedy towel art creations which the kids loved. If you're staying here, I envy you! We LOVED it!

This charming cottage hotel is located on the West bank of the Nile right amidst the Egyptian village. The ensuite rooms are clean and spacious with unique deco. We enjoyed the stay at this “farmhouse” with modern amenities. The staff was extremely friendly. The owner Mahmoud Omar was warm, courteous and tried his best to help us to get a great experience in Luxor. We booked the Felucca Sunset Sail on the Nile for the first evening and a day trip visiting six different sites (in West and East Bank) the next day. The sail on the Nile was so beautiful and magical. The captain of the Felucca made sure the boat got to and stayed at the right site before the sun went down; so we took so many gorgeous photos. We packed all the major sites (usually for two days) for our one day trip in Luxor (Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Al-Deir Al-Bahari Temple, Medinet Habu Temple, Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple), which was designed the way as we requested. We had a great English speaking and knowledgeable tour guide Mike Atty (taiebabdelatty@gmail.com; 002-01006344684), who had a great control of the time. We managed to visit the four sites on the West Bank in the morning, then stopped at owner Mahmoud’s brother’s Egyptian restaurant for lunch (Mahmoud’s treat; we paid for our drinks). In the afternoon, we visited the other two sites in the East bank, before being dropped off to the airport heading back to Cairo. We also enjoyed the large hotel restaurant terrace; the menu was limited but offered very tasteful local dishes. This is the hotel for any who are looking for an Egyptian village stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the large city with a very reasonable price tag.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Al Baeirat Hotel in Luxor last month. It was serene, quiet, picturesque and splendidly located next to the Nile. For lovers of nature it really is ideal, and anyone who is into ornithology. The motorboat to the east bank is free which is nice, and everything is accessible from the hotel. All the staff are really helpful, hospitable and polite...indeed reflecting the world-renowned kindness of the Egyptian people. The decor is really beautiful, akin to a Nubian village. My bedroom was very cosy, plenty of space to put my belongings and to dance with joy at being in the Motherland. The bedroom was so clean, the bed was really comfortable and there were free bananas. Also a plug-in insect repellent was provided. I loved sharing my room with a gecko! It really felt like Africa...warm in every sense and so welcoming. I did comment to the staff that it was brilliant having tea and coffee making facilities in the room (and all would be replenished at no cost), that even the best '5-star' hotels do not usually provide this simple amenity! The housekeepers were kind and so polite. The food was fresh and delicious. The price of the hotel was more than reasonable and a perfect example of value for money. The swimming pool was beautiful and refreshing, surrounded by mango trees (tried some that fell...so delicious!). Wonderful view of the Nile and one could see Luxor Temple, too. I enjoyed every second here, and I shall return soon with my lovely mum, inshallah. I would like to add that I fell in love with the cats here and the random rabbit that accompanied them...I was very close to adopting them all! I don't think that my cat Molly would appreciate that somehow, though! Thank you to everyone there...Mahmoud Omar, Raafat, Mahmoud the housekeeper and everybody. Chloe Cambridge, UK :)
