First off, yes, this is a budget safari and expectations for what people might consider "budget" in other countries need to know that it is very basic but totally fine. My particular trip with Big Time was for the 11 Day Kenya & Tanzania safari. I wish I had read another reviewer's experience prior to booking with Big Time as...

We got picked up at 6.30 am and went to the office of Big Time. But the thing they do is that all the companies try to fill up their buses and so we were driving for probably four more hours through Nairobi to pick up people from other companies. This caused us then to arrive at the camp so...

Deadly means good where I'm from ok. Driver Joseph is the Ayrton Senna of minivans. No he didn't crash into a wall and die he just can manoeuvre a cheap Japanese van through ditches, rivers, hedges etc . Where others failed and needed to be hauled out of trouble Joseph merrily ploughed right through. He's not the world's most eloquent...

I recently joined my parents on an incredible 10 day Safari in Kenya and Tanzania, all managed and set up by Big Time Safaris LTD. I can tell you that this was hands down the most painless and enjoyable travel agency/service I have ever experienced. Writing a separate review of Big Time overall, and will keep this specific to their...

Do not go on a two day trip but rather take the 3 day trip, avoid Sammy as a driver! Unlike the organisator said before the trip we did not spend much time in the park. We should arrive around 15:00 in the afternoon in the park but entered the park no earlier than 16:45. Then the driver/guide left the...

We went for a 9 day safari with Big Time safaris and I would definitely use them again. I'll outline a few warnings at the bottom of this review though! This was my 5th time in Kenya so it was great that at each place we found guides that still taught me a lot and that's down to Big Time...

Safari with Big Time was an amazing experience, I can only recommend them! We had the experienced driver Richard who was able to show us the best (animal) spots of the Masai Mara. The first evening we got to see a lion family eating a freshly killed zebra. The day after we were lucky to see the leopard which is...

In the off season standard price is $100 a day but the agents will tell you $120 a day. However when I arrived other people had paid $280 and had water provided. They say everything is included but drinks are not included. They said airport drop off was included but then tried to Bill an extra 2000 tsh. Agent said...

I've got to say, based on my interaction with Big Time Safaris, I am thoroughly impressed. Their service provides access to one of the continent's best game parks for under $400 all inclusive, which is unheard of in most parts of East Africa. And I seriously have to question the judgement of anyone who gives Big Time anything but a...

Had a very positive experience with Big Time. Both guides we had, James and Zak were very good and professional. The camp was very basic but what you'd expect from a budget tour. The only downside was the food on the way to/back from the Masai Mara.

“Accommodation and food are everywhere very basic and often you will have to sleep in tents. If you are a young backpacker this may be the trip for you. But the cost of 300 USD per couple would expect that Big time Safari offers something better, especially in Tanzania.”
