My wife and I took our two children here (16 and 14) for the February half term and we all loved every single minute of our time there. We stayed in the Family Villa which was perfect, really nicely laid out and, having everyone under one roof, made it easier to get everyone ready, particularly for those 6am drives. The...

Thank you for your wonderful review and thank you for noticing that the game drive out of camp and into the core areas of the conservancy (I'm saying 'core' because Saruni Mara is inside Mara North Conservancy, just on the hills side of the conservancy instead of the plains) is always a great game drive, full of sightings and full...

I stayed in Saruni Mara for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of my stay there as well as the Maasai Mara. This was my first trip to Africa, and there were lists of great lodges, but am really glad that I chose Saruni lodges. Staff in Saruni are just amazingly friendly and provides excellent services. William, the manager was...

My husband and I and our two adult sons spent a wonderful time at Saruni in December. Ricardo and Cecilia were amazing hosts and we had a most delightful time. The setting of Saruni, tucked into the hills surrounding the Mara North conservancy, is absolutely spectacular. From the main lodge or villa, we enjoyed the most glorious views and sunsets...

Thank you Deborah for your kindest words and for the review. Thank you for appreciating the Italian recipes that I introduced (simply because I cabot stay without them...even in the bush). I heard about your cheetah experience: amazing! We look forward to have you back in the future!

We are a young couple who got to spend honeymoon at Saruni and it was the most lovely time ever! From the food (which has a clear Italian influence) to the kindness of the staff, who were always so concerned to meet our needs, the amazing surroundings, the overwhelming beauty of the place, the coziness of the lodges, the attention...

Saruni Mara was an incredible experience for our whole family of 6. We were in the family villa which had an amazing private chef, Edith, and James, who was so nice. The founder of the resort used to live there in that villa and it was amazing, he is Italian and he food is inspired by Italy. It felt like...

After being picked up on the middle of nowhere airfield we were driven to the Saruni Mara Lodge. From the moment we arrived we were amazed by its location and the more we stepped in the happier we become. Located in the hills, it provides stunning views of the Mara and still keeps a secluded feeling. From the main house...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Saruni is a small, luxury lodge in Mara North Conservancy, the best wildlife area in the Masai mara ecosystem. We have one family villa and 5 cottages. Our masai guides are among the best in Kenya and to discover the amazing wildlife of the Mara with them is an unforgettable experience. In July 2012 Saruni Mara opened the doors of a brand new family villa and completed the refurbishment of its existing villa’s in to six beautifully designed, themed rooms. The stylish new villa has two en-suite bedrooms and a large lounge complete with dinning area and comfortable sofa’s sounding the welcoming fireplace. There is also an impressive large veranda overlooking the magnificent scenery of the Masai Mara. The remaining villas have been refurbished to incorporate themes that will engage with guests passions whether that is art, astronomy, photography, literature, natural history or simply romance. All furniture, carpets, lamps and bedding was either sourced locally in Nairobi or designed by Kenyan interior decorator Larissa Hoops and then made by local craftsmen. The Art room will inspire creative guests with an easel and paint as well as a desk with drawing materials. For star gazers, the Astronomy room has a vintage brass telescope, moon map and selection of interesting material on all things cosmic.Book worms and budding writers will enjoy staying in the Literature room with its vintage typewriter, leather reading chairs, desk with brass reading lamp, quill pen and leather blotter.
