The Royal Mara is in the Mara North Conservancy, which is adjacent to the Masai Mara National Reserve. The location is idyllic. We were very impressed with the tents, which are filled with handmade furniture and built with local woods. There is hand carving everywhere! The tents have a raised deck and look out to the Mara River. There were...

Twice from last year and recent visit was wonderful! Many lions around are only half hour drive from lodge! Lion cubs are always my soft point and we met 7 cubs in 2 days! Peaceful riverside restaurant and noisy night with hippos blowing...zebra baby with mother in the camp, what a lovingly view!

I was absolutely amazed at the whole experience of staying at the Royal Mara Safari Lodge! I found this place through trip advisor and really wanted to recommend it to others. First of all, I was a little nervous at the process of paying for our stay. Doing a wire transfer is not common in the US and because of...

What a place - totally open - no fences !! Hippos wander through at night. If you want to go to the dining room from your lodge you have to blow a whistle and a ranger (with a gun) will come and collect you. Electricity goes off at night - supplied with torches - all sorts of animal noises at...

Royal Mara - Absolutely lives up to its name. From the cottages to hospitality to game drives and food, the folks at Royal Mara make sure that guests are treated with utmost care. I had such a fantastic time here, that only a detailed feedback would do justice to this one of a kind jungle retreat. Initial communication and reservation...

Wow, what a place! Absolutely loved it! This is truly a different kind of place to stay and a brilliant place to spot wildlife in the Masai Mara. All of the staff were fantastic, that very rarely happens, but everybody made us feel so welcome, they were very friendly and very proud of the lodge and the wildlife. They clearly...

This was our 2nd visit to both the Mara North Conservancy and the Royal Mara Lodge. We rarely come back to the same place, but we had such an amazing time in October 2013 that we decided to come back again and we were not disappointed. The people and personal service that you get is what makes the Royal Mara...

We had a fabulous experience at the Royal Mara. To be honest, we were not certain when we booked - the lodge which we really wanted to stay at (great reputation and came highly recommended) was not available. Turned out to be a stroke of luck! First of all, this is not a lodge - it's a tented camp -...

Hi I have read many excellent reviews which provide a detailed picture of this amazing place.. We were privileged to stay for 10 days! on our honeymoon. I have stayed at luxury lodges and my wife had previously stayed in the Mara. The 'luxury' element may be very slightly less than the very expensive lodges and the food ( which...
