Where to start.. what a magical place. There are so many options of places to stay when exploring safaring in the Masai Mara. My Mother, father, my partner and I were there as a once in a life time trip, celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary, so I wanted a special and magical place. The Spirit of Masai Mara was just that and more. On arriving, we were greeted with Masai blanket, a welcome drink and full introductions to the staff there. The energy and passion to learn our names gave the whole experience such a personal touch. Nothing was a problem, their care and attention to detail was unbelievable. The team ensured our stay was comfortable by maintaining our rooms, escorting us safely to and from our rooms and providing any dietary requirements we had. The bungalows are finished to a very high standard, with an incredible view over the conservancy. Our driver went to a lot of effort to ensure we saw as much wildlife as we could and was knowledgeable not only about the animals but also the plants. We drove into the Masai Mara for two mornings and one long day. The rest we did drives in the conservancy where we were able to see a lot of wildlife too- elephants, giraffe, hyena, zebra (there is leopard and lion too). Food is discussed with you the previous day or the meal before, and if you are out on a drive then they will pack it for you along with a lovely selection of drinks for the day. I can not recommend this place highly enough. I wish to return very soon.

We landed on the Keekorok airstrip, our very own Masai guide Laban was there to receive us with some cools drinks and nuts and crisps to make our journey to the hotel enjoyable and relaxing, we passed through the Mara to enter the Siena Conservancy, a privately owned one. The hotel welcomed by giving us the Masai blankets and induction us in to the tribe. The hotel was beautiful and the staff exceptional James George Jhon and Simon made our stay outstanding. Mr. Fred the manager and Mr. Justin Mc Carthy the owner took time to chat with the guests and make them feel at home. All in all a superb experience!! Truly tailor made trip.

Lovely visit. Beautiful lodge with wonderful staff. Well appointed rooms with big space and delicious meals even for vegetarians. Be aware that it is a long ride to the river but there is plenty of game around the lodge. Saw lionesses with a zebra kill nearby. Plenty of herbivores including elephants

Dear Sunspotter2016, Thank you for your review of Spirit of the Masai Mara! We are trilled you enjoyed the lodge and the food so much! We are located in the Siana Conservancy, a WWF supported private conservancy on the boundary of the park. Whist it does take us approximately an hour to reach the river, there is plenty of game to see along the way. The benefits of the conservancy are the extra activities we can do outside of the park, these include night game drives, bush walks and sundowners. The privacy afforded in the conservancy allows you to enjoy proximity to our resident pride of lions and all the herbivores around us! We look forward to welcoming you again soon and updating you on our ever growing lion pride! Justin McCarthy
