Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The front office/reception staff were ice cold and mistreated me and kids during our 4days all inclusive stay. one incident is that they denied us a glass of drinking water for a sick child at the time of checking out saying we had to buy the water from their restaurant. they also did not help my enquiry on where i would buy medicine for the sick child. very inhumane behavior. during check in they made us wait for four hours before allocating us a room.

I did my first ever solo trip and it was to Bamburi Beach Hotel as it was very last minute. Esther from the reservations/front desk team was very accommodating and helpful when making my booking. My overall stay was amazing! I got a discount as I was celebrating my birthday that week and the staff was always warm and willing to assist. Got a good ocean-view , clean room and I really appreciated how Esther and Kadzo always went out of their way to check on me throughout my stay and to even organize for a birthday surprise while I was there! Thank you ladies, you made my stay there very memorable!

On 25th August- things became DARK!!! Our personal effects were stolen from our room. Handbag, Purses, Money, ATM Card, etc. We immediately reported to the hotel, it was quite a traumatic experience. - The Security Manager ( from an outsourced company - Pinkertons Security)immediately accused us of being careless were left in our room( during our vacation) to wait for the investigations to happen for 2 hours in a dirty room where our effects were stolen. The CCTV in the hotel was also not functional and the police were called after 5 hrs. The investigations went on the whole day- our vacation was interrupted We demanded to see the General Manager were immediately and rudely dismissed and kicked out of his office as we were asking questions. The General Manager was very dismissive and had a quick temper; he was arguing with us as customers and felt we were a bother and he was right . He even told the security manager to "KEEP Quiet" as we were asking where the investigations have gotten to. He did nothing to calm us down until we asked what he is doing to manage the situation and keep us calm as customers ,he did not even want to see us or meet us in person and kept sending staff to talk to us who also did not want to handle this matter. It seemed the hotel was trying to AVOID taking any responsibility. The Police came and did their own investigations and the hotel promised the police they will send the staff members who are suspects to this case to record their statements . We followed up with the police no one was sent to record statements and we saw the suspects in this case going about their day to day duties in the hotel. The Security Manager told the Police that they had already talked to us and we have sorted the issue and settled. - which was a LIE, even the GM told us that they have taken the suspects to the police station to record statements and they have not. The last day we did not even sleep properly, as we were scared someone might come in at night, we did not feel safe. No one from the hotel has followed up with us. At the hotel they started treating us " special" by giving us fruits and food - which we had already paid for. The agent we used ( Bonfire adventures) was quite supportive when we were in the hotel and throughout the ordeal- we felt listened to and taken care off. However once we reached the train station, they abandoned us as we had to replace the tickets that were part of the stolen items , yet our money and cards were also stolen and we had no money to pay for replacing the tickets. The agent never told us there is money to be paid for replacing the tickets. It seemed that all parties involved ( Hotel and Agent) wanted to manage the situation when are in the hotel so that we can stay calm and once we leave they can ignore us and the case will automatically disappear, which includes lying to us.

I was there for 4 nights, 5 days and we had such a wonderful time. Our room on 2nd floor accorded us great view of the ocean and partly swimming pool. The staff were very friendly especially Esther at the reception and Kadzo and Baraza in the restaurant. When we informed them that we there for our anniversary and my birthday, they surprised us with room decor and birthday cake. For sure we created sweet memories there. Planning to go back together with the kids

Very unwelcoming to guests. And facing discrimination at the reception. I was getting in as a guest to visit my family and they were so rude and disrespectful. There was only one condition, I pay 3500 to cater for lunch, swimming and 4 O'clock tea, yet I had only gone to visit for 2 hours. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We have never felt SO DISRESPECTED and UNWELCOME! As i am writing this message i am still currently staying at the resort as my last day in Mombasa comes to an end. We are a part of a group of 12 government delegates on a work trip staying at the resort for a workshop and last night one of our colleagues staying at a different hotel nearby was refused entry into the hotel restaurant on the basis that he has to buy a buffet dinner ticket in order to come into the hotel. When we spoke to the front desk and requested we speak to the management to address the issue the General Manager, Mr. Nico not only refused to speak to us, but also proceeded to yell at the reception who had called him on the phone in a very rude and verbally disrespectfully whereby we can hear him through the phone. We were informed we can speak to him the next morning when he arrived but only AGAIN to be told in the morning that we cant SPEAK TO HIM we also requested for his email but AGAIN was refused. Now, please tell me or help me understand how you can run a hotel whereby you have 12 delegates staying on your premises and you REFUSE to let a fellow colleague in?!!!!!! We will make sure this goes up the chain as far as possible and make sure none of the institutions we represent EVER again use the hotel!

I had had a two-night stay at the hotel on a business / conference meeting. The staff at the hotel from the front office they are warm and welcoming, good services, welcoming and kind restaurant staff courteous. Small challenge that I am sure the management may improve on is on the rooms, they may need some upgrade of sorts.
