This was my first time traveling internationally and staying in a hostel, but staying here was a great communal experience. I felt safe the entire time. The staff was friendly and helped with check-in and setting up tours. The tour I took to the Great...More

I went on the day-trip to the Mutianyu part of the Great Wall when I stayed at Sanlitun in January 2016. It was a nice day. You get breakfast in the hostel in the morning, and then you board a tour bus with participants from other hostels as well. It takes you straight to the Wall, and has an English speaking guide who explains the day schedule and knows a lot about the Great Wall. You are free to spend your time at Mutianyu as you wish, as long as you get back to the bus in time. Before leaving, a lunch is served in a restaurant near the bus stop.
I recommend going, it's a convenient way to go see the Great Wall.
