There must be 20 Orange Hotels in Beijing alone. When traveling to Beijing, if I work with a local, they seem to prefer these hotels to the bigger European and American brands. They are nothing fancy, you'll get a good room, clean and at a great rate. The best part is that they are away from the tourist traps and... More

Stayed here one night as Sheraton was full. Considerably cheaper and room was ok. Clean fresh smelling and all usual facilities. Even had a live fish in a bowl on the desk. Airy room, but unable to get the air con to lower the temperature. Opened the window and put up with the street noise. limited eating facilities, but plenty... More

We've stayed at this hotel a couple of times; on the whole for maybe 20 nights. It was always a nice stay. The rooms have a very modern design, the goldfish (fish in different rooms even have different names) is a very cute idea, and the staff was always professional (especially in comparison with other Chinese hotels in this price... Overall a great hotel. Staff was friendly and were willing to show us what the rooms looked like. The rooms were clean and well designed. However they were a little small, but you'll get used to it after a night or two. The hotel has a lot of security redundancies. You have to swipe your room card to get to... More

Orange hotels in China are pretty consistent, but this was the best one I've stayed in. Convenient location between 2 subway stations, fashionable rooms, famous and cheap dumpling restaurant just along the street (Qing Feng - favourite of President Xi I heard). My street facing room had no traffic noise, and had everything you need (though no goldfish this time!).... More

I'm from the U.S., and was traveling with family (Chinese) who have stayed there before. It was a good bargain, clean and convenience. Not sure if I a non-Chinese speaker would have stayed there without a translator, but since I had one it worked out perfectly. Staff has very limited English ability. Rooms are small. Really liked the high-tech touch.... More

There is a goldfish in your room and the staff is helpful. The location is nice too. It's just 10 minute walk from either the Xizhimen or Xinjiekou station. There is alot of restaurant around that area too!

The Orange Hotel was conveniently located between 2 subways with the Xin Jie Kou being the closer one. The hotel was located around restaurants and a delicious bakery called Wedomen .A hutong area is a walk away from the hotel and on Saturday it gave us a look at local colour on shopping/market day. The rooms were clean and modern... More

Good base to get around, but stinks like cigarettes (like all hotels in China...). Service was good, free coffee with solving the rubrics cube ;D The service was decent and hotel was clean with many local restaurants around.

The worst thing about this hotel is very thin walls and lack of care on the hotel side to protect guests from unnecessary noise. I need to underline that we are not very sensitive sleepers, but since some people were constantly screaming (very loudly) in the corridor in the middle of the night, we couldn’t get good night’s sleep. I... More

“I had an outside room and it was very quiet since there were at least double-paned windows. Ask for outside room so you will have a view of something besides cars and garbage.”
  • The fish in the room. Nice to have some company.

“Avoid room # 2 - neighbouring with reception counter, unless you want to hear printers, telephones, faxes, conversations with guests, etc till late at night.”

“For late arrival, taxi from Capital Airport around 115 CNY. Make sure they take you to this hotel, as there's another Orange Hotel near by and might be confusing. If you have enough time before your flight when leaving, take subway to the airport 27 CNY and station is close to the hotel. When using a taxi, try to write (or in our case ask someone to do it) the destination in Chinese.”
