We did't have a bad stay, however I feel that there was a certain amount of false advertising, such as the fact that breakfast was not included and it was a fair walk away from the subway. Beds were also very uncomfortable. Despite these issues, the staff was generally very friendly and helpful, and having a private bathroom in the...

Really enjoyed our stay there, good bunks, good facilities and not too far away from the nearest metro! Would defo go again if ever in Beijing again! We even got offered to make and eat dumplings for free during our stay which was really really fun and tasty!

We stayed for a night in a double and enjoyed the pittoresque feel of this small hostel. The staff speaks good enough English, the WiFi is alright, the room and shower were fine and it was nice to be able to sit in both the shade, in the sun on the roof terrace or in the little weatherproof room on...

we enjoyed the private atmosphere: the manager took time to serve us and the kids chinese tea. we enjoyed especially the free dumpling party with the staff. we had a very nice and big room. the hutong area with many shops right around the corner was also a neat experience!

A nice traditional courtyard hostel in a quiet area. Rooms are spacious and clean (we had a triple room). It’s fun to stay in a Hutong house. The location isn’t central Beijing, but within a 7 minutes walk there are two subway stations. And you can aldo easily walk to the Back Lakes (Hou Hai). Very friendly and helpful staff,...

We stayed here during our second stayover in Beijing during a two-week stint in China. This hotel is in an authentic Beijing hutong. Aside the folks in the hotel you won't bump into too many people who speak English, but as in many Asian cities, the hutongs - or the alleys - are where the real neighborhood action takes place....

Firstly this hotel is very difficult to find, don't attempt to find it yourself. Take a taxi and give them the directions you can get the directions on their website in Chinese. The hostel itself is very basic. Not the cleanest place to be honest. There was dust & dirt on the floor in the corners. The walls are very...

I do not recommend this hostel/hutong hotel if you would like a typical warm friendly Beijing welcome. (Beijingers are incredibly nice people, just not at this hotel) Despite its beautiful, clean authentic settings, the unprofessionalism and hostility of the staff, can ruin your stay. For $75 night, you can and should definitely find better. Pros: beautiful hutong house, nicely decorated...

We stayed in the 5 bed dorm with private bathroom, and although the accommodation is very basic, it is clean. What makes this hostel so special is not the room, however. It is the location in the hutongs that is so wonderful. We wandered through the alleys, ate street food and just enjoyed getting a glimpse into the lives of...

located in Xicheng District Beijing, next to the White Pagoda Temple, which is why we named "Templeside".the Forbidden city and TianAnMe Square /Beihai park is abt 3 km away. We did some redecoration work at the end of 2014 including buying new supplies and linen in the bedroom and bathroom.
