First impression of hotel is good as the outside looks really nice. We booked 2 rooms and upon check in, one of the rooms smelled of smoke, so we requested a new room. As I was going in to the first room, I found out the door does not lock. I can just push the door open with no need...

I stayed at this hotel, as part of a tour group, which was booked through Nexus Travel, which is situated in Sydney, Australia. Nice, modern hotel. As stated by others, it is not close to the city centre, but there are shops and restaurants nearby. My room was on the 17th floor and it was a lovely, comfortable room, with...

As the other reviews have stated, it's far from downtown. But if you're part of a tour group, this is a nice place to stay (and probably not as expensive as downtown hotels of equal quality). The room was nice and clean and modern. A tap for purified drinking water was available in the bathroom which was great. You also...

Our tip is to either go...

TaiShan Hotel, Beijing [http://www.bjtaishanhotel.com] I was in room 1203 for four days and room 408 for two days in April 2012. TaiShan has the design of a five-star hotel. The bed is comfortable. The work desk has internet connection. The bath tub and shower setup is very nice indeed. There is even a separate faucet for water that can be...

The hotel was as good as they come. No ATM yet, but very elegant. If you're on a tour it's perfect. It is not near anything so if you want to tour Beijing on your own, I'd stay closer to downtown. Had trouble getting a cab to bring us back past this 5th ring one night. Nice breakfast buffet. Only...
