well, where to start..receptionists didn't have a clue how to deal with unhappy guests - and we had many reasons to be unhappy. Firstly they messed up our booking dates, then send us to a different part of the hotel (not the fancy main building you see on the photos, but another building few min walk away) which is not... This is an update of my review in 2014. I've since stayed another two more times (in August 2015 and May 2016). Sadly, the quality of the rooms has deteriorated markedly from my previous visits. The most intolerable aspect is that every room, every corridor, every nook and cranny in the hotel now reek of cigarettes. Apparently, they don't separate... More

University guest accommodation in any country is not comparable to a luxury hotel. That said, the Zhongguanyuan Global Village, PKU was perfectly adequate to our needs during our week-long stay in May 2016. The room was clean and quiet at night (basketball court outside was busy during the day). The beds were firm but comfortable and the shower was fine.... More

This hotel is well situated for business at Peking University., not on the campus but just across the street. Good breakfast both Chinese and Western choices. Close to Metro. Place was clean, room reasonable size, we had a balcony but the door was locked.

I stayed in the international visitors apartments whilst working in Peking University. The hotel is very close to the university so if you're working/studying there, then this is a good place to stay. Also, it is close to the underground station for transport links around Beijing. One thing I would say is that the beds are so uncomfortable. The mattress... More

I have just returned from a conference and Beida which is very close to the hotel. I was a bit worried about the reviews, the dirty carpets with nails, smell of smoke etc. Now, China is getting more expensive, but still hotel are more convenient that most countries in Europe and for what you get and the location (200 m... An old-style hotel but rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is healthy and there are some extras (pool, sauna, VoD, etc.). It is also very close to subway (and only 3 stops to the Summer Palace). All and all, if you are visiting the PKU, it is a good choice.

A recently constructed hotel on the grounds of Peking University, with comfortable beds, efficient cleaning service, and acceptable Chinese and Western breakfast choices. However, the hotel restaurant serving lunch and dinner lies to the right as you exit the main entrance, a short walk under a smooth covered surface (i.e. good when it rains). The Chinese dishes are of average... More

I visited BDG 9 second time and not much has been changed. I was delighted to find that they provide video-on-demand with a fairly large and up-to-date collection free of charge. If I have business related to Peking (or Tsinghua) University, I believe that the PKU is very reasonable selection. No grocery in the immediate neighborhood: however, there is one... More

Pros: close to Peking university. Cons: All smoking rooms, smoke stench in the rooms. Mattress as hard as the floor. Musty, inefficient bathroom. Poor WiFi, no WiFi at all in the conference and lobby!! Reception staff look to be university students. Squat toilets in the conference area. Gym and pool not open until 15:00. No English TV channels. Rusty carpet... More
