For me the best thing about the Candy in (formerly Hai Inn and better recognizable as such from the huge light sign) is its location. A less than 5min walk takes you to the Lama Temple and Confucis Temple, and the Lama Temple Metro Station. From that station its one stop by line 2 to the Dongzhimen long distans bus...

We really enjoyed our stay at the 1 Hai Inn. Best part was the staff, they were very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Free breakfast was great, an actual hot breakfast and it was good. Room was basic but nice with private bathroom and TV so compared to many other places we stayed was a step up. Good...

We stayed 5 nights in an ensuite double room. Overall, for a hostel in the middle of a big city, we found it acceptable. What we liked: The location was good and the price wasn't too bad. i stayed in a eight person dorm as the eighth person. (i requested to stay in the unused dorm, but they said no. so there i was with a 40-year old man and a bunch of other snoring guys.) the bathroom is a shower-toilet combo that gets muddy very quickly. when i asked for a bathroom cleanup, the staff responded...
