This hotel is in pretty bad condition; the rooms are old and full of mold - inside the wardrobe, around the sink etc. Also, the hallways, and to a certain degree the rooms too, smelled of smoke, as a lot of the people staying there actually smoked inside, although it for forbidden, the hotel did nothing about it. The breakfast...

This hotel is well located in the hutong region, about 500m walk from the Qain Men walk and within walking distance of Tienenmen but it is grimy, run down and badly in need of painting. The rooms are clean but the toilet and pipes are leaky, the air conditioning temperature cannot be adjusted and the doors don't close properly. The...

This is a basic but clean hotel in an interesting area and within easy reach of the Forbidden City and other attractions. The décor is tired and our shower curtain was too short, so water poured all over the floor but you get what you pay for and the inconveniences are minor.

We originally booked two rooms for three nights in this hotel. After the first one we had to leave. There were cockroaches in the bedrooms, the A/C was not working in the entire building, the windows didn't close so they kept banging during the entire night, the showers were dirty, the floors were sticky, and so on.

There were mixed reviews on this place. Some said it was really dated, and some said it was newly updated, so we decided to go with it. When we got there, we found that both were correct. Our first room had no A/C, so it was stuffy and hot. The closets had mold inside them, the bathroom was [mostly] clean...

Stayed for 3 nights on shoestring tour with Explore. A tired hotel set in an old but very interesting area of Beijing. Rooms are a decent size, clean and comfortable. Good enough for a short stay. Both hotel bar and breakfasts were advertised but disappointingly non existent. Exit the hotel and turn right to find Alices tea shop then to...

...the hotel appears to be 'struggling'. Having stayed at the Far East in '09 and '13 I was looking forward to returning to the hotel. The location in the hutong southwest of Tian'anmen Square is perfect and the hutong itself is a very 'authentic Beijing experience'... But, the hotel is now seriously worn down. The rooms are shabbylooking and it...

The Location is fantastic. It's a standard cheap Chinese hotel, not much more to say about it. If you want your own room and have graduated from hostels, but you don't have high standards, it's perfect. The staff are often stressed out but are nice enough. Do yourself a favor and take multiple evening and early morning strolls in the...

I should at first tell you that there is no way to get a taxi from this location. You have to walk out to a main street. However, I did managed to coerce several taxi drivers to take me to the hotel, even though once there, they couldn't turn around very easily. For this purpose, it's good to print out...

I went to Far East hotel together with my collegue and 26 high school students. The rooms in the hotel are not pretty, but they have got, what you need. Some were more clean than others but all in all the rooms were decent. The best thing about the hotel is the location. The hotel is placed in a small...
