The Beijing Hotel is actually part of a complex of multiple hotels spanning a large block along East Chang'an Avenue that also includes the Raffles next door (has a better bar). The Beijing used to be the place to stay in the city, but now there are certainly better options. The location is great, right on Chang'an, a short 5-minute... More

Used to be the best hotel in Beijing in the 80's (the real 5 star hotel back then), has not been updated since then and only lives on its old reputation. The room is spacious though not updated, the washroom is also very old. So the value for the price we paid is pretty low. despite that we got a... More

Great location - near Forbidden City, Tiananmen square, shopping area, market, metro station. However, the furniture is old, the service is poor, the staff is quite unfriendly. Taking a taxi it's a challenge, even if you order it at the reception.

The hotel is in an old building with poor furniture and facilities. The personnel is unfriendly and not helpful at all. They don't speak english (just a few of them and a very poor english) so they could not understand your requests. For example, we waited for more than 45 min to get a taxi because they didn't explain us... More

Great location, nice looking lobby, inner connection to other hotels and restaurants. Old rooms and ugly looking corridors - dirty carpet and low lights, renovation needed. AC in the room didn't work properly, noisy refrigerator

I stayed here last weekend for a business conference. This is a good Hotel that is almost joined on to the Raffles Hotel in Beijing. It is just a short walk to Tiananmen Square and local to the East and West subway system. The rooms are clean and comfortable and all the restaurants are excellent. The area is popular with... More

Beijing Hotel is the place to stay to get a whiff of what China was like in the 1950s,when it was influenced by the USSR.These days, its the other way around. The hotel is on the most prestigious avenue in Beijing, perhaps in China,Changanxie,so dont forget the walkabouts. The breakfast is adequate, the food and service of high quality.Best of all for those... More

Just a short walk to the Tianeman Square and the Forbidden City. The hotel was clean and in good condition for a very old building. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was very good.
