Great view, great location, with the river & market below. Close proximity to shops. Very good breakfast. Staff pleasant & useful. Rooms on the small side. Very noisy until 2 AM with night clubs nearby and overhead metro line, but still worth the experience. A taste of China. Will stay there again.

Stayed here one night. Great location, it looked onto the river. Close to Carrefour to get groceries. The room was comfortable and clean but it was quite noisy we could hear people talking until real late. Our room faced an alley. So we had no view. We ate dinner in the cafe, it took a whilst for the meal to...

stayed at this hotel as part of a tour. The rooms facing the cliff smelled and were very musty. Being so close to the cliffside mean opening the window for fresh air somewhat iffy since there was a storage shed just outside and much garbage in the area. Room was not overly clean but acceptable. Our group had 4 rooms...

From check-in to when you enter the room, modern with a classical touch. The moment you look outside, the old world charm hits you right between the eyes. Modern room with Western toilets, beds are a bit hard but I do believe they have replaced most with Western mattress. For breakfast, steer toward the Chinese side. The Western room is...

Arriving at midnight after an extensive journey from London via Beijing, at check in our group was a little unprepared to fully take on board the directions to our rooms and breakfast arrangements, resulting in some comedy moments in the lifts! For this hotel is set into a cliffside, with rooms on the 8th floor, below reception on the 11th...

When you arrive at the hotel entrance, it does not reflect the adventure you will encounter below. The hotel hugs a hillside overlooking the River. The old Chinese architecture below will absolutely stunning you. While the exterior reflects old China, the interior is modern even for Western visitors. Has all the amenities we look for including a electric water pot...

A nice hotel with good sized rooms. Service was excellent. Breakfast good. However there is a train close by that goes back and forward across the river every few minutes. It is noisy if you are trying to sleep. It does stop late at night but starts up again early morning.

The hotel is centrally located. Out the door, in front of the hotel you have Starbucks and Dairy Queen. Then 5 minute walk to all famous shopping and restaurants. The breakfast buffet has everything you could want. You enter the hotel on the 11th floor. Its high up. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is the mattress...

I've stayed in Hongyadong twice. The first time, five years ago, the rail bridge across the river was not complete. This time, it conveyed a train every few minutes, as though it passed through the room. The hotel provided ear plugs, and anyway the trains stop before 11 pm. But I found the nature of the guests have changed -...
