We arrived 1AM in the morning and we left the guest house 6AM the next day but they still charged us 2 nights. We informed them before we arrived at Hong Kong that we will be there at around 1AM and they confirmed it that they will only charge us for 1 night. Then when we arrived at the guest...

When we arrived we waited for 20 minutes for someone to come and once they did they took us to a completely different place?! The guy claimed the rooms were a bit old but really spacious and the place had just opened, this is not the case. The double rooms are actually just single beds which 2 people could never...

the building where it is located is creepy, very dirty, the elevator is always under maintenance and we ended up using the stairs. we went down 8 floors and the way down is very dirty, they use it as a smoking area and lots of trash everywhere! its not suitable for anyone! me and my family ended up checking out...

Absolutely nothing is good about this guest house, just very close to star ferry, that is all, avoid this place. It is unsafe, filthy dirty, the walls and floors are oily and yellow, not like in the pictures you see. I killed nearly 13 cockroaches walking on the walls and the bed (see the image attached). One night I woke...

though the room was tiny...as with others...after we changed the room to a three bedded one, there was little bit more space, so that at least two people could co-exist peacefully...the highlight was the helpful attitude of govind the overseer, and ready availability of fast Indian food and presence of fridge/microwave...and really cold water...but all kudos to govind

Best thing is the location. I guess they're all like this in HK in terms of hostels. I've been in some poor ones but none quite as small as this. It is clean and bedding is changed daily but you won't realise until you see just how small it actually is. If i was to go again as a couple...

Where do I begin? Firstly for HK and such a good location this is a great price but my God what a place. On arrival you will need to get passed all the touts at the entrance there are so many of them you can't access the building easily. Then you walk through a market and money exchange centre that...

Room is very small. Bath room not clean. The elevator was not working. You have to wait 10-15 mins just to get up or down. Elevator can only accomodate 7 persons. The owner was very rude. Very unpleasant smell upon entering the building.

Over the last couple years I've stayed a night of two in a total of five or six different hostels in Chungking Mansions, and Yan Yan is marginally better than the rest of them. If I have to stay in this area again I probably won't experiment anymore and just come back to Yan Yan. The host (Lau) was efficient...
