The hotel locates just few steeps from MRT Jordan B1 Exit. It's also near to the night market with just few blocks away. The room was okay..no bed bugs if that's your concern. The hotel is quit new as they just opened last year 2015. The owner is a China lady. She can speak in Mandarin, Cantonese and surprisingly a...

Your experience at a guesthouse like this will likely depend on your expectations. I've been to Hong Kong a couple times, and stayed at a few different guesthouses, and this seems like a typical experience. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, and (thought the beds aren't the comfiest you'll find) you'll be well-rested for any exploration of the...

Booked this K&B Hostel for 20 & 21 May 2015 at Agoda, due to it's New Lucky House building located just in-front-of MRT Jordan B1 exit. Only a few steps from the outside door of the building. Some convenience store at the left side of the building on the sidewalk. Very close to shopping stores at Jordan street and nearby...

Hakkas Guest House, also known we K&B Hostel or 嘉應賓館. I'm baffled by the multiple names, but I have heard good reviews from friends, and it was awfully expensive to stay at hotels & AirBnbs over Christmas, so I stayed here from 25 - 28 Dec 2014, at HK$400/night. It's fairly easy to contact them (LINE, whatsapp, etc, check their...

Booked this room through Agoda as I was enticed by the light blue to white colored walls, which gave an impression of cleanliness and newness. I chose this hostel since I'm bringing my 5-year old kid and the last time I booked in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) area the alley going to Chungking Mansions was not adequately appropriate for kids....

All the rooms are equipped with the air cons, toilet and shower (with bath foam and shampoo), receptionist provides clean towels. The rooms are small, but cozy and clean. Booked our rooms directly with Hakkas in advance so we had our room confirmed (did not require deposits). This is considered an old building for HK standard, but the rooms are clean and in good condition. The uncle that cares for this guesthouse is friendly and gives good guide especially on directions to places nearby. Perfect location as it is...

I will start off by saying that Hong Kong in general is much more expensive than other countries in southeast Asia, especially around Chinese New Year, but I still thought that our room here was pretty expensive for what it was. Because our other accommodation plans in HK fell through, we booked here last minute. The best thing about this...

Little guesthouse - up the lift and around the corner in an old high rise on the corner of Jordan Street and Nathan Road, Kowloon - was a bit hard to find the entrance but they are building a new subway entrance right outside. Airport bus practically drops you at the door and Subway is also right outside. Staff very...

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
