This is my first time staying at the original Mandarin Oriental. The decoration and the rooms are quite old-school luxury but still very functional. The service is really good and they have good restaurant options and a great cake shop. If you have time, definitely go to the Mandarin Grill and Bar (once again, old-school but great). The only two... More

I found my room absolutely superb but there is a permanent hub of activity in the lobby and the mezzanine and the staff made a few mistakes with restaurant reservations. The location of the hotel is perfect and the view from the room was beautiful and romantic.

We spent a long weekend at the Mandarin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff went out of their way to meet our special needs. The room/suite, particularly the bathroom, were top notch. As was the fitness center and spa.

Staff are exceptional, nothing is too much trouble, room very good size with high end furnishing. Excellent gym facilities, pool a little small, would always stay here when visiting Hong Kong whether business or pleasure. Subway very close by as is a few excellent malls with every luxury brand outlet you can think of!

I actually book my flights to Asia Pacific from Europe especially via HK so that I can go stay at the MOHK. An annual treat. MOHK is an absolute institution and in my opinion by far the best hotel in the world. The facilities/dining/bar options at this hotel are second to none. Think the hotel recently refreshed all of their... More

Excellent hotel, staff was excellent and very accommodating. It is a pricey hotel but you get what you pay for. Location on the Central side is very very conveinent but the view from the Kowloon side is better.

My husband and I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong for 3 nights last week. We absolutely loved it. There is so much to say. The welcome and service is exceptional. There are so many staff to greet you, the reception is well staffed. Everyone is just so happy and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The... More

This is my first time stay in MO Hong Kong as I've been Four Season IFC loyal guest and it was fully booked during my trip. I didn't pay high expectation at first place but this hotel surprised me pleasantly with their unique bespoke service. The only pitfall is that the lobby is too small and dark and the low... More

The Mandarin in HK is excellent from the warm welcome and efficient checkin to the great location, diverse and constantly available in-room food service, especially helpful concierge desk and amazing overall service, best showers ever, amazing spa... I could go on and on. Have stayed there many times and will do so again.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
