I have never experienced the level of service that I had at the MO in Hong Kong. It was truly extraordinary. I have stayed at many nice hotels, but this is a different experience. From being escorted to my room at check in, to the friendly, caring attitude of all the staff throughout my stay, this was indeed service perfected....

The last time I stayed in 2016, I commented on the lack of a full-length mirror in the room. They promptly replied that there was one inside one of the closets. So during my most recent stay this 2017 I checked, and indeed, there was a full-length mirror inside one of the closets. But what impressed me was, in addition,...

We have stayed here many, many times and have seen the major and minor aesthetic changes in the hotel (the rooms used to have outdoor balconies which were incorporated into the rooms with floor to ceiling windows), changes in the Mandarin Grill and relocation of Cafe Causette from the ground floor to Mezzanine. Room decoration has been upgraded. However, when...

When asked if my stay was worse than, about the same or better than the last time, my response was the same as last time, as the last time we stayed at the Mandarin, our stay was PERFECT, and you really can't beat PERFECT! Everything about the Mandarin is just, well, perfect. the greeting at the door when you arrive,...

I was so excited to be staying in the 'original' MO hotel - Hong Kong and having stayed in many MO hotels I expected this to be their flagship and exceed all other hotels. It was a fantastic stay and as usual the service was perfect but the hotel itself is not the best. The location of the hotel is...

I spent two days (one night) in January 2017 at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. I stayed in a study room at the 12th floor that was very elegant and comfortable. With a number of restaurants to choose in between, easy access to the Landmark shopping area the hotel is perfect for a short stay in Hong Kong. Service was...

After having stayed at this hotel on business over 10 years ago, I decided to return to the hotel when visiting Hong Kong for a holiday last week. From the moment I arrived, it was an absolute pleasure. The check in staff were welcoming without being overbearing, and the porters were prompt and efficient with my luggage again managing to...

The Mandarin Oriental is located in the heart of Hong Kong. Extremely convenient to do business or travelling on leisure. It is definitely my favourite hotel in Hong Kong. What makes the hotel stand out is the service! (And I have stayed in most of the top hotels in HK: Ritz, Four Seasons, Upper House etc) This place oozes class...

This was a special occasion for us and the experience far exceeded our expectations. The attentive staff could not do enough for us in ensuring we had an anniversary evening we will never forget. Outstanding service and an immaculately presented luxury room as good as I have ever stayed in and as an airline captain hotels are my life. I...

Stayed here numerous times. Love the understated elegance & decor ... never gaudy, "in your face" like some of the newer luxury hotels. Consistent high level of service. Can't beat the central, convenient location with nearby MTR ( underground subway ) and steps from the Star Ferry.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
