I'm a frequent visitor to Hong Kong but this was my first stay at the Mandarin Oriental and I wasn't disappointed. From start to finish the experience was first class in every way. The initial welcome and service at check in was friendly, quick and efficient, and I was soon shown to my room. The room itself was spacious, furnished...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

Stayed for three nights at the Mandarin Oriental while on a visit of Hong Kong, Singapore, and Penang. Very impressed with the room, which was spacious, fully decked out with fine furnishings, plush bed, fast wifi, international outlets a-plenty, and those finer touches like slippers (two sizes no less), an umbrella, your selection of silk OR terrycloth robes, a drawer...

We have just returned from 10 days in the hotel .We stayed in a city view suite which was comfortable, roomy and had a great view of the harbour from the bath! What makes this hotel stand out are the staff (OK and the breakfast buffet) they added immeasurably to the pleasure in our visit to this fascinating city The...

We have stayed at Mandarin hotels worldwide, but this was the first time that we stayed at the original property in Hong Kong. Not disappointed. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Central. Easy walk to the Star Ferry or to the Peak Tram. We had a harbor view room on the 11th floor, which was great. The...

This review is for the “Old Mandarin” as opposed to the Landmark Mandarin. “Old Mandarin” referring to the original Mandarin Oriental Hotel though you would have no way to know its age as it has been thoroughly updated over the years. This is a First Class Hotel in the classic definition of that term. I could not find a defect....

My recent stay at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel has renewed my impression of this hotel. This hotel has been a long established 5 star hotel in the Central area of Hong Kong, renovated within the last 10 years and has been a super hotel for my tastes. THE SERVICE IS FANTASTIC!

My wife and I recently spent four nights of our post wedding vacation at the Mandarin Oriental (MO). I have wanted to stay at the MO ever since I first visited HK back in 1995, so this was a stay I was much looking forward to. I did not have one experience during my stay at the MO that was...

"To see the world, see Hong Kong." This was the advice a friend gave me at breakfast, and the Mandarin Oriental made it happen. It is walking distance from the MTR Airport Express, which makes it easy to get to when arriving, and just as easy when departing Hong Kong. Centrally located, it is walking distance to the major malls,...

I love everything about Mandarin, from the size of their room to interior and most especially the service! The room is well kept form sheets, to pillows to the bathroom. Staff are all very warm and hospitable. Location is excellent for all our favorite restaurants... Mandarin is still my top favorite in Hongkong.

The most Iconic address on Conaught Rd Central neighbors to some of the big names...one of the pioneers who introduced luxuries in hotel business. Once you're here you don't wanna leave....everythin' makes you feel complete. Rooms furnishes are top of notch and the view is jaw droppin' directly overlooking Harbor View or Victoria Harbor...the shower bath is simply full of...

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
