This is not a fanciful hotel but cool enough! Evergreen is one of the very few that gave reasonable internet rate & they even provide daily breakfast. Nothing wow, just simple fare, but good enough. The room & bathroom are really small, but have all the basic amenities needed. 21" tv, stocked fridge (though we didn't consume any but stocked...

Travelled to Hong Kong (Feb 2006) for the first time with my wife and 3 children (11,8 and 4). Booked the Evergeen Hotel based on the the reviews we read on Trip Advisor(In reality was disapointed with the hotel) This was the only hotel we found that would accomodate all 5 of us in one room. Other hotels required us...

I've just come back from a stay at the Evergreen Hotel in Hong Kong and I had a fantastic stay. I've stayed in another Kowloon Mid-range hotel before (the Dorsett Garden around the start of '03) but this was way more superior. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were great - clean, spacious (for Hong Kong) and...

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
