In my view, the best place to stay in HK is the Wanchai area, and the V Hotel takes a lot of beating. I had an excellent top floor suite, enjoyed the peace and quiet, and the helpful staff on level 3. This was my 3rd stay at the V, and I will certainly be back.

Went on a family trip and stayed at V2: Clean and hygiene environment: The staffs are friendly and helpful: Not truly a hotel as there is no lobby available and you would need to keep your head held high to notice the signboard as well. There are lots of eateries around and it is truly convenient!

This was for a business booking, booked by an assistant. Tucked one small block away from the Wan Chai MTR, this 30 story 'hotel' is barely noticeable from the street - if you miss the large 'V' sign above the entrance. There's no lobby as such, but more of a concierge desk and a lift to the reception on Level...

Stayed here for 2 nights during October 2015. This hotel seems more like a boutique hotel to me - modern looking, clean and staff are generally helpful. You are surrounded by food stalls, shops near the hotel. It is also walkable to MTR. The staff was nice to upgrade me to their suite. Room is spacious especially in HK context....

We did the booking via the internet and found it hard to make a decision so picked this one on price so were very skeptical. This accommodation worked out really well the location is near the buses and trains shopping and was quiet at night. Safe area as we were walking around at 11.30pm and never felt threatened. Staff went...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
