Great location near MTR, food and shopping. Service was friendly and helpful. My twin room was comfortable and I love the small touches like welcome snack, wall paintings and soft toys! It's tucked away in a commercial building with 1 lift but it's easy to find and security was good.

I helped my nephews and his friend to book this place after going through reviews in TA and I found this place has very positive comments from TA and the location is Top Notch and the price range is reasonable at HKD650 per night for a family room but with bath tub. Now, it is small but to be expected...

We moved at Alohas Hostel on our 3rd day in Hong Kong. By that time, we were starting to feel the physical tension of being always on the move. Whilst we enjoyed our dormitory stay at our first hostel, Alohas was a welcome change of setting and pace. It is located at the 7th floor of a residential building pretty...

I stayed at Alohas Hostel for 4days/3nights. I booked room for 3 people. The room is big enough for 3 adults and enough space for our luggages. They also provided hair dryer and towel in each room. Staff is friendly and allow us to leave our luggage after checkout, so we can go shopping without the hassle of luggage. I...

The place that I usually stay in Hong Kong was fully booked, so I booked a room at this hostel. I was a bit apprehensive given the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. I booked the family room (for just myself) and I would recommend that if it is within your budget. There are two beds (one double/queen and one...

Have been there for few days with friends again and booked 2 rooms. Location is excellent, 1 min. walk from the metro station with bakery, restaurant and grocery store downstair (10 sec walk under a covered footpath, we didn't bring the umbrella for breakfast even rain). The area is quiet with less travellers / residents. The rooms are ok and...

When finally we get in the the room, there was no window, the floor was not clean, the bathroom not clean and the room was very small! We couldn't ever stay longer in the room because we were not confortables! When I talked...

This hostel was easy to find, and easy to pop in and out of while staying in Hong Kong. We got the A21 air bus from the airport which left us directly across the road. Also, it's right next to the Jordan MTR station on Nathan road, exit C1 on bowring road was less than 1 minute walk from the...

This place was cute and really well located. The rooms were small but did the job. It was mostly clean but the room really could use a fresh coat of paint. It would make a big difference. I would recommend this place for the budget traveller.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
