the room was clean, the staffs are friendly and accomodating. it’s a good location because its walking distance from resto and bars. our only concern was the mosquitos just bring some repellants. also the internet connection was only at the lobby…

The location was very convenient. Everything were walking distance. The staff were also friendly. However, the room was really small. It was hard to move around. The door was very near the bed. They also had schedules in using the generator during power interruptions so you cannot shower or use the room during the times wherein it is off

I had a nice time staying here. Very comfortable, clean and close to everything in town. The staff were very friendly and gave great recommendations for food and things to do around El Nido. Would recommend staying here.

I loved the facade of this Hotel it looks and feels very Filipino✨🥰 there’s an unlimited coffee or ginger tea in lanai area which I appreciate. Down side is the standard room I got is small & the ceiling is low. I noticed the blind folds in my room were teared apart so that anyone from the outside can secretly take a look at what’s happening inside🤔

The room I was given (room 106) doesn't reflect AT ALL the pictures or the description on the booking page. For starters, the ceiling is 1,85m meters high and it feels very claustrophobic. I've never in my life seen something like this, and I've been staying in different accommodations in the Philippines for one month. You'll see it on the pictures how I'm not exaggerating (keep in mind I'm 1,83m tall - 6 foot). Secondly, the room is full of stains, mold and dead bugs smashed against the ceiling (again, the ceiling is very low) that look disgusting. I asked the management to deep clean the room two days in a row, which made no difference because their cleaning standards are very low (or maybe they didn't even tried to clean it). Then I asked the admin employee (Jolly) to follow me to the room so I could show him the cleaning issues that the room had, so they could properly clean it. When I started pointing out the problems, he only repeated over and over "that is our standard room". Later he said that room was 4 years old and needed to be renovated, and there was nothing that could be done now. When he said that, I asked him how they could be renting the room if they knew it was not in good conditions, to which he suggested we should go back to the reception and talk to the manager. Back in the reception, Jolly went to an adjacent room to talk to the manager; I saw the manager was looking at him with a uninterested attitude and she didn't leave her chair or said not them 5 words to him. So Jolly came back to talk to me and said I could move to a triple or quadruple room if I paid the full difference. Basically his answer was give us more money. In the end, I moved to the other available standard room (room 101), which was in a better condition than the original one, but still has a 1,85m meters high ceiling and is literally 3 meters away from the restaurant, which serves breakfast at 6h30 (that means it's noisy early in the morning). By the way, both rooms have windows facing the corridors, so you'll never open the curtains, which makes everything even more claustrophobic. I proceeded to complain to Booking.com about the room condition, and a few hours later I was told by the front desk that the property offered to refund one night of my stay because of my complaint, to which I accepted. The following day, at 11h30 AM, Jolly sent an email via Booking.com saying that to get the refund I should leave the room immediately. In other words, they were not refunding me one night, they wanted to expel me from the hotel with 30 minutes notice. Save yourself some trouble and go to another of the numerous hotels in El Nido. …

The dorm was in disrepair. Staff quote “we don’t care”. Never had a hot shower, they said they fixed it but still no hot water. I tried to reset the heater, was a mistake because the cover fell off on me. Staff blamed me and charge me for the damage I did not do. Grew very angry at staff as the week went because they have such a flippant attitude. Most backpackers left after one night, hotel next door has rooms for 50 pesos less than the dorm here. While the hotel gets great reviews the dorm is completely opposite and should have separate reviews on TripAdvisor. Food was good but breakfast was always late, causing me stress to get to scuba diving on time. Stupid stuff like guests wait for the late buffet to open while the staff take pictures of the food. If breakfast is 250 pesos you would think they could make change on 500 pesos, but no I always had to wait through the checkout line at the front desk to make change for a restaurant that does have a cash register. Annoying stuff that just adds up. The last day they called the the police on me and forced me to pay $10 for the repairs.…

Just read some really bad reviews and I would like to say that my experience was very different. Amakan was a last-minute choice after my ferry to Coron was cancelled. I booked a private room for 3 nights. The staff were very friendly and the room was small but lovely and cosy. The only downside was that the aircon was blowing freezing cold air (even when seton 24 degrees) one direction straight onto the bed next to me. The bathroom didn't smell and there was even shampoo and hair conditioner provided. Some electronic devices with bulkier plug did not stay in sockets properly, but if you prop something underneath them then it was all fine. There was no WiFi in the rooms, but that was communicated right away at the check-in, so I really didn't mind. If anything, it allowed me to properly relax in the room and have a better night's sleep. The breakfast was also nice, not an extremely large choice of food, but enough variety and it was tasty.…

I stayed here with my parents recently for 4 nights on a room with 4 single beds ... the room smelled awful, the ac was not working, no place to put luggage, room very small, bathroom smelly and the place overall was just dirty, including the toilet near the restaurant didnt hve a proper flush. To top it all, the staff was not friendly and not helpful at all... advised us to pay upon arrival but if i only saw how small and smelly the room was i would have totally backed out and found another place. I will definitely be back in el nido as this place is literally heaven on earth but will never stay at amakan again. the free breakfast is a mediocre as well, not much variety, no wifi inside the rooms, only positive thing is their ginger tea.. the towels that they rent out look like rugs as well... i cannot believe this place is rated 4stars... there are so many places better than this as i have looked at other places to stay since we are going back next year... …
