Detailed Reviews
"Next to" El Nido, a 10 minutes walk or short drive along the beautiful stretch of scenic view of Cadlao Island, you can retreat to a 6 room cottage, limited to a handful of tourists, seeking the tranquility, yet the close access to the many activities.
There are no issues concerning arranging your needs, as there is always a friendly staff member to help out, to keep it hassle free, and accomodate for a complete relaxed and peaceful experience. We booked tours, scooters, transfers delivered to our door, and were always welcomed with hospitality, including the owner, who recommended places to go.
Preferable rent a scooter, which secures a short ride to nearby attractions, such as Lio Beach, sunset at Corong Corong, Zipline, canopy walk, or even Nacpan Beach.(the resort do offer a shuttle to El Nido)
The influence of the Italian owner offers a tasty selection of Pastas and moka for great coffee.
The tides influence makes the beach only good for swimming during high tides, though it is rocky, there are no sea urchins, but booties are recommended, and it is not deep waters to expect. The stroll along the road, crossing the beach to the city, can get flooded,so be prepared to read the tides, even its still accessible.
The breakfast at beach front with the spectacular view of Cadlao Island, is probably what comes to my mind, first thing I think of AngelNido Resort. How could you ever get tired of that, or this little cozy blissful location.
I hope it will stay this way to enjoy for many years to come.

Wow, I don’t know where to even begin ..... This is a small, friendly and perfect little hotel in El Nido. I have seen a lot of people comment on the location being far from the town but I absolutely loved it ! There were some days when I walked to the town and it was a very pleasant and scenic walk. I really enjoyed it. The view at the hotel from the outdoor seating area looks out to the most gorgeous views ! It does not even look real. It was like a postcard perfect picture right infront and I cannot explain how much I miss the beautiful view! It was sooo refreshing and wonderful to take in this view whilst eating breakfast each morning. The breakfast menu is small but satisfactory and the pancakes with fruit was my favourite! Also the fresh mango juice - great way to start the day!
I ate dinner at the hotel and it was delicious every time! It was made fresh and seasoned beautifully. This hotel is the perfect place to relax after a long day on the day tours ! It is peaceful, the staff are all so so nice and friendly, and the location and views are all amazing.
The only one thing lacking was the amenities in my room - there was no safe or mini bar, and no bathroom amenities etc.
Apart from this, everything else was amazing and in all honestly I would still more than happily stay here again.

Matteo and his family were incredible hosts.
The resort is 5 minutes walking distance from El Nido, which allows you to be close to the town without having to deal with the noise and the chaos.
All the rooms are clen and well kept.
The staff is amazing, very helpful and available for all possible needs.
You can organize tours and transfers directly with the resort at 0 extra charge.
I would definitely reccomend this place to anyone and I would surely choose it once more were I to go back to El Nido.
Thank you matteo for this wonderful experience!
Ps. The Sunsets.....no words to describe them!

Our stay at Angel Nido resort was mixed.
The views for breakfast were amazing, and the hospitality from the staff was impeccable - when they are available (after 10pm they were not around).
The breakfast was tasty but the options were extremely limited to a few dishes (pancakes, bacon, hot dog, longanisa), meaning that we ended up eating the same breakfast 3 days in a row. You also have to choose between juice or coffee but not both. They didn't have any black tea when we requested.
The hotel is an awkward journey from El Nido town proper - either a 15 minute walk down dark bumpy paths, or a 200peso tricycle journey as it's a difficult ride (indeed, one day the tricycle got stuck and we had to get out and push it). The beach is not accessible during high tide, which was during most of our stay.

Emailed resort for last minute airport transfer for 5 pax. Quick replies and van turned up on time. Had to transfer to 2 tricycles closer to resort though that added to the charm. Resort is smallish, intimate and friendly staff. Clean and maintained. No TV. resort has backup generator to tackle occasional power cut. Enjoyed the breakfast with sea view and also sunset. Owner helped us to buy ferry ticket to coron and the staff sent us to ferry terminal after breakfast. Easy to communciate, and responsive.

The resort is an absolute gem. Secluded slightly away feom the town centre the, but only a 10 to 15 minute walk away. Tuktuks are alwys available, and a scooter rental shop is just across the road, as is a small supermarket. With only 6 rooms it's so peaceful. Right on the beach too. This isn't a beach you can use for swimming as the water is less than knee deep for over 100 meters. Dont let that worry you. Excellent beaches aren't far away, and it's great to come back to total tranquility after a day out. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. I have nothing negative to say.

Matteo and his very helpful team run a small but very nice cozy hotel. The rooms are spotless and the breakfast is very tasteful. Nice private garden at the beachfront. Good airconditioning, nice little bar !

Incredibly rude management. I asked if they cater for a dietary restriction and the cancelled my booking without notice. When I asked them why they said they couldn’t accomodate my booking anymore. Avoid this place like the plague! Revolting!

If you intend to stay in this place or anwhere near this property such as The Nest do take note it's not easy because of the narrow passage way (and dangerous) accessible only by motorized bike. Leave your check in lugages behind and bring only backpacks and carry on bags.
If you arrived via El Nido airport do yourself a favor and arrange for a van transportation else you will end up with a ride of your life!
Actually, if you are not adventurous and with small kids skip all local destinations if the mode of transportation is through trycycle because of the rugged terrain. I mean it and you will thank me.
This hotel and maybe most of the locally run properties in the Philppines offers only the basics necessities which good enough for local tourists.
Staff here are very helpful, arranging the local tours and providing valueable insights and tips.

I'd like to thank Mateo, his wife and the staff at El Nido for making my stay so special. I stayed at Angelnido for nearly 10 days over Christmas 2014. I kept extending my stay because I didn't want to leave this homely and peaceful place. The staff were so friendly and the service was impeccable. Rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was great. Mateo (the owner) cooks superb Italian pasta dishes that rival the meals I've had in Rome so don't miss out on those. The breakfast area is and front garden has one of the best views in El Nido (see my attached photo)
I opted for a single fan room near the reception area which was good value for money (ideal for solo travellers on a low budget). It had a cosy bamboo interior and a comfortable bed. Took a quick look at the more lavish rooms and they looked great. The one closest to the sea has the best views. The hammocks in the front garden are a nice touch.
Its close to a quiet sandy beach just to the right as you face the sea. There's also a little shop just outside the entrance.
I've been travelling / backpacking on an off for several years and I can vouch for this one as a gem. I tend to keep going to new places rather than retrace steps but the charm of Angelnido and El Nido itself has made me want to return as soon as possible.
