Located at the West Coast, at the far end of Pasir Panjang Road, near Clementi Road. About SGD25 taxi fare from Changi airport and SGD8 from shopping centre VivoCity (which is near Sentosa Resort Island).

Hotel is convenient if you want to be near NUS or NUH. That's about it. That's the only reason I stayed there. Walking around the area, I saw another hotel called Santa Grand. Had a look inside the hotel and it looks better.

Check in was uneventful. It was already booked online and charges were already deducted from my credit card. Do not expect any staff to help you with your luggage. Check in time is at 3pm. If you want to check in early, pay a charge of SGD 77. Absolutely ridiculous cos it means that the room was ready but they make you wait til 3pm. But you are willing to be ripped off your hard earned SGD77, then you get a room immediately. Rip off!!

The rooms/corridors on Level 1,2 and 3 smell of cigarette although it is supposed to be a non smoking hotel. People will come check in for casual sex. Hourly rate is SGD20, minimum 2hr. So couples pay SGD 40 to have fun there. However, it didn't affect me cos I was placed on Level 4. So choose the right floor or be prepared to hear noise.

Room was small. One queen size bed which is covered with a protective (against human bodily fluid, I think) layer of PVC then a super thin bed sheet. Even old torn bed sheets are still being used. Management choose to save environment by using cheap thin old torn bed sheets. Two extremely uncomfortably soft pillows. Toilet and shower all in one. Water heater functions well and hot water was not a problem. After shower, the floor gets very wet which I overcame by taking extra towel from the cleaners trolley. Bring your own soap. Hair dryer, kettle, complimentary water and coffee. Room is small but good enough for a single person with average sized luggage. Iron and board can be requested, pay a deposit of SGD10 and get it back after you return the iron and board. Difficult to do ironing due to the fact that the room is quite small. No fridge inside the room.

Wall is paper thin. Every cough and sneeze can be heard through the wall. Difficult to sleep because of that and door closing was heard and felt in other rooms. Bring ear muff or ear plugs.

Eating outlet nearby. Few restaurant, eg a 24 hr prata shop, two Chinese, one Malay/Indonesian, one Indian.

Bus stop right in front of hotel. So relatively easy access to nearest MRT (Clementi MRT) which took around 5-7 min on the bus.

Overall, I didn't like it. I moved out to another hotel after several days because I was NOT able to sleep peacefully. For young solo travellers, it may be ok but considering the price, I would definitely go somewhere else. I paid 153 per night. Not worth it.

The hotel is located just around the corner from the main campus of the National University of Singapore, which made the location ideal given that I was visiting a friend who is studying there. The room was clean and tidy, although it could be on the small side if being shared by two people. Didn't hear any disturbances in terms of noise overnight. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The nearest MRT (metro) station is a short bus ride away. Overall, good value as a place to stay on the outskirts of Singapore, with the city centre just a short trip away.

Unbelievable but true. I left 50 SGD in my wallet in the hotel room. After whole day out, when i came back, the wallet was in my partner's bag and the money had disappeared.
I inform to the people at reception but they completely ignored me.

Apart from that the hotel has very tiny rooms, no windows and even tinier bathrooms. Not comfortable at all and too expensive for what they offer.

And even with all the money you pay, they rob you...

I was a guest staying at fragrance hotel for 10 days(21/01/13-30/01/13) due to my house under renovation.During my stay I have tailor made 2 shirt(S$180) n 1 pants(S$95) from a shopping centre which I brought it back to my room in a paper bag.Unfortunately during my check out,2 of my shirt went missing and only the pant was left in the paper bag.I immediately made a report at the front office and they told me they need more time to investigate and will get back to me.After which I tried to call and check with them after 2 days as I have not receive any call from them.A guy name MICHAEL then told me he can't view anything from the CCTV.But will give me a reply by the day itself which I waited and call back but he was off work I guess. So after which I call the front office again and 1 of the staff told me MICHAEL was not around but he will message him to get back to me.And again no reply! The next day MICHAEL call me to tell me he was in the meeting with the CEO of fragrance hotel an have bring up my matter to them, and he have view the CCTV till the 28th.So he will again need more time to view the 2 more days of my stay. And that he will get back to me by his so call 'TODAY' again. But after 3 days still no sound from him.The front office staff still keep pushing me off by say they will call him to get back to me.With this attitude from this reputable chain hotel,I will urge those with the intention to stay in this hotel to THINK TWICE as for their DISHONEST housekeepers as you might not want any of your items to go missing.

I refer to your feedback on the lost items during your stay at our hotel. I wished to inform that Mr Michael is in fact our Assistant Duty Manager, who had personally assisted you in the investigation and had duly followed up with you on this case, on a daily basis from 31 Jan to 03 Feb. The room was a shoe box with a double bed occupying most of the space. We had a corner room which meant it was angled and made getting to the other side of the bed difficult. There was a cupboard for a toilet/shower. The shower was over the toilet truly making this a wet room. S$138 per night seems expensive considering the lack of facilities.

Can you walk to NUS from your place? If not, how to get to NUS?
Singapore, Singapore5 contributions2 helpful votes
We are the Managing Operator for Fragrance Chain of Hotels. Thank you for your interest in Fragrance Hotel - Waterfront! NUS main campus is located in the southwestern part of Singapore adjacent to Kent Ridge, which accommodates an area of 150 ha. That said, it is an 800m walk from the hotel to the nearest entry point of NUS. From here, you would need to take a further walk to get to the building you intend to visit.

how do you get from hotel to NUH and airport?
Singapore, Singapore5 contributions2 helpful votes
We are the Managing Operator for Fragrance Chain of Hotels! Please find the transportation options for travelling from the airport to the hotel: For subway travel, board the train (East-West Green Line) at Changi Airport MRT Station (CG2) and alight at Clementi MRT Station (EW23). The journey will take about 53mins (Excluding waiting time) and costs SGD2.50 per person. From the station (Exit A), you have to take a 10mins taxi ride to our hotel and it will cost about SGD7. You may also wished to know that if you are arriving before 0530hrs or after 2300hrs, the only available option is the taxi, since the train will only operate between these hours. You may also consider taking the airport shuttle (Available 24hrs) at the cost of SGD9 per adult and SGD6 per child. Kindly note that this service operates at every 15 or 30mins (For non-peak hours). Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly from the airport to our hotel. It will take about 30mins and costs between SGD27 to SGD39, depending on the time of travel, which might be subject to surcharge. For directions for getting from the hotel to National University Hospital: The distance from the hotel to the hospital is about 2.8km away. You may take Bus Service No. 200, at the bus stop nearby the hotel and alight outside the hospital. The travelling time is about 25mins and costs SGD1.60 per person. For convenience and time savings, you may consider taking a taxi. The travelling time is about 10mins and costs between SGD6 to SGD8, depending on the time of travel, which might be subject to surcharge.
