Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff are so pleasant and welcoming. I was on a 17 hour layover and I was allowed to check in early. The staff at check in ( John) and check out( William) were personable and very hospitable. I had booked through the Accor website and was pleased to receive an upgrade. The rooms are spotless, location close to shopping and good eateries, the beach, and a short drive to airport. The buffet breakfast was well worth the price. In short- highly recommend!

I stayed here back in 2015 for work and am back again for work i2023. Nothing has changed, rundown rooms, lifts that take 10 minutes to arrive and room wi-fi that never works. Not good if your here on business. Only positive is staff are very good

Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy - part of Accor Group Managed to redeem a complimentary night stay in a Deluxe Room as part of Accor Plus Membership Programme on 11 November 2023 for 1 night. Conclusion of this staycation:- 1. It was better to redeem your award/complimentary stay at other brands within Accor Group such as Sofitel, Swissotel The Stamford or Pullman that provide better hospitality & service. 2. The housekeeping standards for the room is subpar as room toilet ventilation fan is filled with a thick layer of dust that left us disappointed. In addition, this is the 1st 4 Star Hotel who doesn’t provide plate & culinary set to the room upon request. Instead, only disposable plate & culinary set were provided a S$2.00 charge (excluding GST & Service Charge). Even a small ice-bucket also incur a S$3.00 charge (excluding GST & Service Charge). 3. The hotel also doesn’t provide welcome amenities such as a fruit plate or chocolate in their room that is unusual for an international change of Hotel Group. 4. The room table lighting copper/aluminium stand is filled with spots of rust/dirt that is visible. 5. The room telephony set on the writing table does not have a telephone directory label for guests to contact the relevant department for assistance (e.g. housekeeping, concierge, in-room dining etc).

In mid-Oct 2023, we organized a birthday party at FEAST ASIA. The buffet restaurant had done a facelift renovation, and now it looks so cozy, plus comes with a wide spread of food that is so delicious. The restaurant staff was so friendly /patiently provided top-class service to the customers on that evening. 2 Thumbs up...........Yummy !!! I shall be returning soon.

We have stayed at this hotel about 8 times over the years and we were very satisfied with the hotel. They DONT have the complimentary shuttle anymore but it is still advertised on their site on the internet. We wasted a lot of time trying to figure out where to catch the shuttle and in the end we where told they dont have it anymore. Their site should be changed to reflect this so people dont waste their time. The rooms are very tired and there was a very musty smell in our room when we arrived, we had to ask for a freshener spray. The staff are fabulous. Such a shame as we like the area but I dont think we would stay here again. Perhaps when the train line to the airport is finished or they bring back the shuttle bus and the hotel is done up a little we might stay again. Pauline

Generally OK, the hotel is nicely located and the general location appears of good level. Still, there are for sure some things which should deserve much higher attention, basically in the bathroom of the room (1641). The sink drain is very noisy, and the bath tub quite old. But although unpleasant, you can live with this. What I found unacceptable is to have towels with a hole in the middle...... We say that the difference is in details, but I hardly can consider this as a detail.

I arrived after a scenic 40-minute travel from Changi on the number 36 bus that dropped me off opposite the property. Conveniently, I was checked in on arrival by Eve, a very happy and informative member of the FO team. The room faced the pool on the 10th floor with a pleasant surprise: a bathtub and a very comfortable bed. Buffet dinner options included oysters, noodles, sashimi, Asian and Western selections. and an attentive F&B team. Some of whom are Gen X like me and by one individual, I was called chivalrous (which brought about a wave of self-admiration) just for being polite. Respect begets respect from all ages. Buffet breakfast had some nice choices along with the usual teas, coffee, and juice. Checkout was straightforward, the bill was settled, and there was no standing around waiting before heading to the nearby bus stop to connect with my transport back to Changi. Overall, a very pleasant, enjoyable stay and would happily return.

This is alike our second home in Singapore, for family and work. A shout out for Keith at level 4, serving by the pool side bar. His smiles and happy personality just makes us, as guests so welcomed, every time we are here. It is also contagious, as I note most of the guests are also happily chatting with him. Not surprising, we meet him again in Level 3 at breakfast at 8am. Even with his long hours, his smile is alway there to welcome us. His energy and attentiveness amazing, as if he runs on an everlasting energised battery! Kudos to Keith and also the many staff from the welcome at start by the concierge team like John, and many others whom I shall take note of, for my next review. Roxy is an old hotel, though we have been and tried many others in Singapore, we still come back to, mostly for the staff and people like the Keiths and Johns of Roxy.

We stayed at the Grand Mercure Roxy on a stopover to and from a trip to Europe. The hotel is located nearly halfway between the airport and the city centre in a nice residential area (away from the hustle and bustle!). There are many nice restaurants behind the hotel and a wander up Joo Chiat Rd takes you past many quaint old tea houses. Opposite the hotel is a large airconditioned shopping mall and a hawker stall area where you can get a good, cheap feed, plus a large supermarket. We caught a taxi from the airport on our first stopover as we arrived at 1am. The hotel was about a 15 min taxi ride away and cost SGD28. For the rest of our stay we used the no.36 bus which does a loop from the airport to the city centre. The bus stops directly outside the hotel for the airport and across the road for the city centre. The bus can get crowded but we found it a very convenient and cheap way of getting around (it comes approx. every 10 mins). The rooms at the Grand Mercure Roxy are a good size with a good size bathroom. On both stays our twin room had two very comfy double beds with nice quality linen. Although the room on our first stay showed signs of wear and tear, the room we had on our return trip seemed newer - same decor. I would definitely stay here again on my next Singapore stopover.

It was heartwarming to return to Grand Mercure Roxy after enduring the challenges of the Covid era. While some of the beloved amenities are yet to make a comeback due to past restrictions, the essence of what makes this place special remains intact. The staff continue to exude warmth and hospitality, upholding the hotel's high standards even amidst staffing challenges. Eagerly anticipating my next stay here!
